My Experience with Dr.g red blemish cream and Milk Touch cream

For context, I have dry skin and currently live in a very dry climate, so I’m on a journey to find the perfect cream for me.

I thought I’d share my review in case it helps someone in the same boat!

Dr.g Red Blemish Soothing Cream

Texture: It's hydrating and feels very moisturizing. When applied, it gives a smooth sensation on the skin. There’s almost no greasiness, just pure hydration. However, for me, it dried up pretty quickly.

Scent: The scent has a slight chemical note, the kind of smell you notice when no additional fragrance is added.

Milk Touch Hedera Helix Relaxing Cream

Texture: It's hydrating with a slightly bouncy texture, but it still feels very moisturizing. The texture doesn’t have any greasiness.

Scent: Similar to Dr.G, it has a faint chemical smell.

SUMMARY

Moisture Dr.g > Milk touch

Thick Dr.g < Milk touch

Scent Dr.g = Milk touch

The textures are very similar overall, but Milktouch feels just a bit bouncier. I think both creams would work great for people living in hot or humid climates.

I agree. It dries down pretty fast. I’ve been layering it under a sleeping mask to lock it in better!

Ohh that’s a smart idea! What sleeping mask are you using with it? I’m trying to build a routine that doesn’t evaporate by 3pm haha.

Same here! I started mixing a drop of squalane oil with Dr.G and it helped the hydration last longer. Might be worth a try!

I wonder if that’s why some people say it’s better as a summer cream. Like it needs humidity to work well?

I used it with Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask and they paired like a dream — no irritation, no pilling, just soft skin.

You’re totally right. On its own it’s not enough for dry climates, but as a base layer? Perfect.

LMAO this is the energy I needed today. But real talk. Have you tried it under makeup? I’m scared it’ll pill with primer.

It doesn’t pill for me, but I give it like 5 min to set before primer. Learned the hard way lol

Same!! It’s actually such a solid daytime cream. Just wish the tube was bigger.

Honestly I feel like people sleep on it because it’s not “aesthetic” but it WORKS

I pair it with Beauty of Joseon SPF and it’s chef’s kiss. No weird texture, no white cast, just smooth skin.

This comparison was super helpful. I live in a dry climate too, and finding a cream that hydrates without being greasy is so hard. Will probably test both, but Dr.G sounds more promising for winter.

your comparison pic?? actually SO helpful. like I’ve read 10 diff reviews but none of them showed the textures side by side like that. it made it so easy to decide which one to try first. more ppl need to do this pls.

have you ever tried using either of them under makeup? I’ve been struggling to find a cream that’s moisturizing enough without pilling under my foundation. also curious how either one performs throughout the day, especially if you layer SPF or primer on top. sometimes creams that feel amazing at first end up balling up later, so I’m wondering if either of these does that. do you think one might be better suited for daytime and the other for night routines? would love a bit more context if you’ve tested that out!

Yes! Dr.G worked under my base makeup really well but Milk Touch was a bit too rich under my cushion — felt a little heavy after 4 hours.

Milk Touch is great at night but yeah, under makeup it might be too emollient depending on your foundation.

Neither pilled for me but I always wait at least 10 mins before SPF. Otherwise even my best creams turn against me lol 😂

I also live in a dry area and Milk Touch layered weirdly with matte sunscreen. Switched to Dr.G in the AM and it’s been smoother 😶‍🌫️💭

the Milk Touch cream sounds cute but idk how I feel about “bouncy” textures. they sometimes just sit on top of my skin. maybe I’ll try a tester first.

this is super random but do you know if either of these is cruelty-free? I’ve been trying to switch over my routine and some K-beauty brands are hard to confirm.

I really wanted to like the Dr.G one but it kept drying down weirdly patchy on my cheeks... not sure if that’s a me problem or the cream 😕

Oof, dry skin in a dry climate? That’s the hydration Olympics. Respect. Dr.G sounds nice but if it dries down too fast, I’m out I need that lasting cushiony feel.

Bouncy texture from Milk Touch sounds promising 👀 but does it seal anything in?? I need a cream that hugs me back.

Okay but can we talk about how both have that “no fragrance” chemical scent… Why do brands act like that’s a neutral vibe?? 😂 Give me unscented that doesn’t smell like lab air.

I’ve used Dr.G too! Agreed it hydrates, but I had to layer a facial oil on top. It’s like, 70% of a full cream experience.

Real talk, Milk Touch gave me better overnight plumpness. It's not heavy but something about the texture just sticks with me. Low-key underrated.

Honestly shocked Milk Touch isn’t getting more hype. It has such a calming texture! I used it post-laser and it didn’t sting at all.

@Influencer Same here. I was expecting Milk Touch to be sticky but it surprised me. Lowkey a dupe for more expensive barrier creams 🫢🙈

    If you’re in a dry climate, I vote :
🔒 Use either of these → lock it in with a balm or occlusive
💧 Or find something with squalane or shea for real staying power

    Group consensus :

    - Texture queen : Milk Touch

    - Initial moisture hit : Dr.G

    - Still looking for the holy grail for desert air skin 🏜️

Can we get someone to try mixing either of these with a few drops of face oil next? I need a DIY barrier-boosting combo.

Daytime = Dr.G, Nighttime = Milk Touch. That combo saved my moisture barrier this winter.💅💅

Is it better than Round Lab’s Dokdo Cream though? That’s my current holy grail.
