I usually love toner pads since they’re so convenient and versatile. You can swipe them on like toner or even use them as quick DIY sheet masks. Back in the day, I used to soak cotton pads in toner and slap them on my face to calm down redness, and honestly, it worked! So having pre-soaked pads now just makes life easier and helps keep my vanity a little less chaotic. Since Mediheal Madecassoside Blemish Pad was claimed to be soothing, I picked it up without thinking twice. But... the moment I opened the jar, boom! That smell! I wasn’t expecting it at all! I hadn’t seen anyone mention it, so I was seriously caught off guard. It’s kind of a strong herbal scent? Not terrible, but definitely not pleasant either. I gave the pads a fair try anyway, and honestly, if it weren’t for the smell, I think I’d really enjoy them. The texture is nice, and the formula does seem calming on my skin. The smell does fade, maybe I’m just getting used to it, or maybe it’s mellowing out every time I open the lid. Either way, it’s a bit of a bummer because the product itself is actually decent! For context, my skin is pretty normal overall, probably more on the combo side. I do deal with some redness now and then, so I usually look for soothing, hydrating products. This one could’ve been a favorite… if only it didn’t smell like someone brewed a pot of herbs right on my face.
