this sun stick changed my whole sunscreen game 💅🏻 and I’m not being dramatic

Okay so I feel like nobody in the U.S. is talking about this brand and I’m kinda confused why?? Because this sun stick is basically the only reason I actually wear SPF every day now.

I’m in college (currently in my senior year, yay me 🥲) and between classes, running to the library, part-time work, and trying to maintain some version of a social life, I’m not gonna lie — reapplying sunscreen was not happening for me. Like… who really wants to smear cream over a full face of makeup in the middle of campus? Not me.

But then I saw someone on TikTok (shoutout to @skincarestan) using this Korean sun stick and it looked SO easy?? She just swiped it on in the middle of a park and her makeup still looked bomb. I was like okay fine, I’ll bite. Ordered it from Stylevana or YesStyle or somewhere, I can’t remember.

A month later: I will physically fight anyone who tries to take this SPF from me.

🌞 The Product (for anyone who hasn’t heard of it)
So this is the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Sun Stick. Some people call it the Madagascar Centella stick, same thing. It’s a solid sunscreen in stick form that you swipe on your face like a deodorant bar but ✨fancier✨.

Main things that convinced me to try it:
☑️ It’s a chemical sunscreen with SPF 50+ PA++++ (good enough for strong sun)
☑️ It has centella and hyaluronic acid, both of which my sensitive skin loves
☑️ It’s matte and silky, not greasy
☑️ Reapply-friendly

💁‍♀️ My Skin Situation:
For context, I have pretty sensitive combo skin — gets oily on my nose/forehead by like 3 p.m., but my cheeks can be dry if I overdo it with actives. I also get redness easily, especially around my nose. Most sunscreens either make me break out or make me look like a glazed donut.

Also worth noting: I wear makeup like 5 days a week. I’m not doing a full beat every day, but I usually have on tinted moisturizer, some concealer, blush, brow stuff. You get it.

🧴 First Impression:
When it arrived, the packaging was minimal and cute — the stick is slim and fits in my palm, which is actually ideal for on-the-go. It twists up and glides on super smoothly. Like… smoother than I expected. There’s zero tugging. No weird waxy drag. It literally just glides.

It goes on clear (no white cast 🙌), and finishes kind of velvety. Not dry, not sticky. It honestly almost feels like a primer? I’m obsessed.

💄 Under/Over Makeup:
Y’all. This thing plays so well with makeup.

I’ve used it:
– Underneath makeup as my morning SPF (no pilling, no greasiness)
– Over makeup in the afternoon to reapply (still no pilling?? how??)

It doesn’t disturb my blush or base AT ALL. If anything, it kind of blurs a little? Like a filter effect. It also doesn’t make my mascara or eyeliner smudge, which I was afraid of. I literally swipe it over my cheeks, forehead, jawline, and neck while I’m walking to class and I don’t even need a mirror.

🌬️ Finish & Feel:
It feels soft?? That’s the best way I can describe it. Soft and a little silky. There’s no greasy layer, no sticky forehead, no weird film. Once it’s on, I kind of forget it’s there. I even used it after hot yoga and it didn’t melt off or clog anything. It dries down fast, too.

☀️ How It Performs in Real Life:
I’ve worn this:
– In 80°F humid weather in Austin
– On long campus walks (like 20 mins straight in full sun)
– Sitting outside at brunch
– Under a mask (lol remember those?)
– At a weekend festival where I reapplied it three times in one day

And I never got sunburnt. I also didn’t break out. And maybe this is placebo, but I swear my skin looks calmer when I’ve been wearing this for a few days in a row. Probably the centella.

📦 Things I Wish Were Different:
I wish the stick were slightly wider? It’s fine for everyday use, but if I’m trying to be really fast, I have to swipe it back and forth a few times to make sure I’ve covered everything. Not a huge deal, but something I noticed.

Also, I go through it pretty fast since I’m using it multiple times a day. If you’re just using it once in the morning, it’ll probably last you 1-2 months. But if you’re like me and reapplying mid-day and again late afternoon, you’ll go through it in 3-4 weeks.

💸 Where to Get It in the U.S.:
Right now I’ve only seen it online. I’ve ordered it from Stylevana and YesStyle. Both took a while to ship (like 2+ weeks), but it came in perfect condition. I WISH it were easier to find in stores like Target or even Ulta. I know Olive Young in Korea carries it (lucky), but here… we wait 😭

Does anyone know if there’s a way to get this in the U.S. faster?? Or a dupe that works the same way? I’m seriously debating ordering like 3 at once so I don’t run out.

🌟 Final Thoughts:
This is my favorite sunscreen ever and I do not say that lightly. I’ve tried everything — Supergoop, La Roche-Posay, Neutrogena, the whole Sephora aisle. This is the only one that:
– Doesn’t irritate my skin
– Doesn’t mess up my makeup
– Makes me want to reapply

If you’re looking for an SPF you’ll actually use, this is it. Sunscreen doesn’t work unless you wear it consistently, and this makes it so, so easy. Even my friends who hate skincare have asked me what I’m using because my skin looks good even after class in the afternoon 🫶

So yeah. I’ve officially become that girl who carries sunscreen in her tote bag like a lip balm. No regrets.
