ACWELL Licorice pH Balancing Essence Mist

I really wanted to love this mist. The promise of balanced pH, brightening licorice extract, and a refreshing spritz throughout the day? Sign me up. But after a few weeks of testing, I have to admit—this just didn’t work for me.

The bottle itself is sleek and minimal, which I appreciate. The mist nozzle dispenses a fine, even spray (major points for that—nobody wants to be attacked by uneven droplets). And the scent? It’s light, herbal, and pleasant, which I don’t mind. But things started to go downhill from here.

At first, it feels refreshing on the skin, but within minutes, I notice a weird, slightly sticky residue. It’s not hydrating enough to be a proper essence, but also not light enough to just be a mist. Instead of leaving my skin dewy, it makes it feel... filmy? I kept using it, hoping my skin would adjust, but nope—the feeling never went away.

Performance & Results

This is where I really struggled. The mist claims to help with brightening and soothing, but I didn’t notice any of that. If anything, my skin felt more congested after a few days of use. I have combo skin, and this seemed to just sit on top of my face rather than absorb properly. I also tried it over makeup, and let’s just say—BIG mistake. It made my foundation separate and left a weird sheen that wasn’t quite dewy, just... off.

To be fair, I can see this working for people with very dry skin who need an extra layer of moisture throughout the day. If your skin drinks up anything you put on it, you might not experience the same sticky feeling I did. But for me? It just didn’t mesh well with my routine.

Final Thoughts

I had high hopes, but this mist didn’t deliver. It’s not terrible, but it’s not something I’d repurchase. There are better mists out there that hydrate, brighten, and refresh without the weird residue.

Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5 – Just not for me).
