So I wasn’t planning to fall in love with a toner, but here we are. The Round Lab Dokdo Toner has been all over my feed for months, and I finally gave in because apparently I’m weak for anything that promises "soothing hydration" and has minimalist packaging.
ㅤ
Let’s start with the basics. This toner is basically water. Like, if water had a skincare degree and knew how to calm your skin down after a long day. It’s super thin, runny, and just disappears into your face in like two seconds. But somehow, my skin always feels softer and happier after using it.
ㅤ
I usually use it right after cleansing, just patting it in with my hands because I’m lazy and can’t be bothered with cotton pads. No stinging, no weird smell, no sticky finish. It’s just very chill and gentle, and my skin honestly loves it.
ㅤ
The whole “Dokdo” thing comes from the fact that it uses deep sea water from Ulleungdo (near Dokdo), which sounds kind of extra at first. But once I actually started using it, I was like... wait, why does my skin look calmer?? I swear the irritation and redness I normally get around my nose and chin started fading after just a few days.
ㅤ
Also, let’s talk ingredients for a sec. No alcohol, no fragrance, no essential oils, nothing sketchy. Just good stuff like panthenol and allantoin that help with hydration and soothing. If your skin is picky or gets mad easily, this toner is basically like a peace offering.
ㅤ
I’ve been using it morning and night for almost two weeks now and I’m already halfway through the bottle (I might be overusing it... but in my defense, it feels sooo nice). I’ve even started doing like three layers sometimes, and my skin just drinks it up. No breakouts, no greasiness, just soft and plump skin.
ㅤ
Also kinda love how well it plays with the rest of my routine. I’ve layered it under vitamin C, under retinol, under heavy cream — no pilling, no weird texture issues. It just fits in quietly and does its job, like a reliable friend who always shows up.
ㅤ
And not to be dramatic, but it might have actually saved my moisture barrier after I overdid it with a BHA toner last month. My skin was mad at me and flaking like crazy, and this was the only thing it would tolerate. Within a week, the flakes were gone and I looked less like a crusty croissant.
ㅤ
Packaging is also super cute and low-key. I know that’s not the most important thing, but I do judge products by their bottles and this one looks very aesthetic on my shelf. It's a win.
ㅤ
If I had to complain about something... maybe that it runs out kind of fast? But that’s probably a me problem because I use it like it’s free. They do make a 500ml jumbo size though, and you better believe I already added it to my cart.
ㅤ
Anyway, moral of the story: if your skin is tired, sensitive, or just generally dramatic, this toner might actually calm it down. I went in with zero expectations and came out with a new staple. Kinda obsessed, not gonna lie.

Rating: 9.5/10. Taking off half a point because I wish it came with a pump or something. But it’s still love. 💙
