I bought these on a whim during the ์ฌ์ sale because I kept seeing them swatched on short-form reels. Iโm not easily convinced by eye crayons โ most either crease too fast or end up too dry and patchy. But these Frottage Pencils? Pleasant surprise.
๐#01 Shining Linen:
This is a very soft beige with a slight pink undertone โ perfect for a muted base or even to highlight the inner eye corner without using shimmer. I honestly didnโt expect much but it looks SO natural, especially if you have fair to medium skin with warm or neutral undertones. It reminds me of the kind of shade you see in Japanese palettes, where itโs more about nuance than pop.
โจ๏ธ#11 Dew Beige:
This is where it gets really interesting. The color is like a soft, burnt golden copper. Not too orange, not too yellow โ really flattering and gives your lids this gentle warmth, like the last light of sunset. It has a creamy glow, but no chunky glitter. On me, it works as an all-over wash with brown liner for soft definition.
Texture.. I would say it's creamy but not overly slippery. I applied with my finger and blended it out in a few taps โ no brush needed. That said, you do need to blend quickly. Once it sets, it doesnโt budge easily. I wore it from 9 AM to 6 PM with minimal creasing (only slightly in the fold line, and that was without primer).
But here are a few notes I made. If your lids are super oily, you might still need a primer. The crayon format is convenient but not twist-up, so you will need a sharpener. And I found the tip is a bit thick for detail work โ I wish they had a slimmer version for tight-lining or more precise inner corner work.
Overall, I think these are really solid for the price. Not life-changing, but definitely a good staple. If youโre into minimal makeup days or want something fast and blendable, Iโd say go for it. Just donโt expect it to replace a full palette โ itโs more of a quiet everyday tool than a showstopper.
Would I repurchase? Probably yes, especially if they release more neutral or muted shades. These two are already in my โno-thoughts-just-swipeโ rotation.
-How does the lasting power compare to the Canmake Creamy Touch Liners?
-Does #01 work as a base for powder shadows or does it get patchy when layered?
