on a whim, mostly because I was bored and felt like adding something random to my YesStyle cart. I wasn’t really looking for a new remover. I’ve used oil cleansers forever, and I didn’t think anything could be better. But I do wear waterproof mascara almost every day—either the Heroine Make one or Maybelline’s Lash Sensational—and honestly, those formulas never fully come off unless I practically scrub my lashes. So I figured, why not try the thing everyone swears by?
⠀
When it arrived, it looked exactly like a clear mascara. Same kind of tube, same spoolie wand. I kind of rolled my eyes at how small it was—like, this tiny thing better work. The instructions say to apply it like mascara, wait 30 seconds, then wipe it off gently with a tissue or cotton pad. That first night, I followed the steps without expecting much. But the mascara did come off. Not in one dramatic swipe, but still. It loosened up way more than I thought it would. I didn’t have to rub my eyes or pull at my lashes, which was honestly kind of shocking. Usually by the time I get everything off, my eyes are red and irritated. That night, they weren’t.
⠀
The second time I used it, I was wearing more makeup—like, full black eyeliner, shadow, mascara, the whole thing. That’s when I realized this product is strictly for mascara. It doesn’t touch eyeliner or anything else. So it’s definitely not an all-in-one remover, and you still need to double cleanse unless you're only wearing mascara. That part was kind of annoying, but also fair. It’s literally called “mascara remover.” I guess I just hoped it would do more.
⠀
I’ve been using it for about three weeks now, maybe four. It works consistently. The wand makes it super easy to target lashes without getting remover all over your face, which is kind of nice. But the wand also gets gross fast. You have to wipe it off every time or it gets that black build-up on it, which I find kind of gross. And again, the size is an issue. I’m already halfway through the tube. It’s $10, which doesn’t sound like much, but for something this small that doesn’t last long, it adds up. Especially if you wear mascara every single day like I do.
⠀
There’s one thing I do love about it, though. My lashes don’t feel brittle anymore. Like, with oil cleansers, sometimes I’d still lose a lash or two while trying to get waterproof mascara off. But with this, my lashes feel softer. Like I’m not torturing them every night. And even when I forget to use eye cream or lash serum, they don’t look as rough as they used to.
⠀
Would I call this a must-have? Not really. It depends on the kind of makeup you wear and how patient you are with your routine. If you already have a good oil balm and don’t mind spending time massaging it in, you’re probably fine without this. But if you want something quicker, something that respects your lashes, then yeah, it’s worth trying. I wouldn’t say it changed my life, but it did make my nights a little easier.
⠀
I’ve recommended it to exactly one person—my sister. She’s the type to sleep in her mascara and then wonder why her lashes are thinning. I handed this to her and said, “Use this or go bald.” Dramatic, but she listened. And she liked it too. Said it made her routine feel more put together.
⠀
So yeah. Kiss Me’s remover isn’t flashy. It doesn’t promise too much. But it does what it says, and it does it gently. That’s kind of rare in makeup, honestly. Most products either overpromise or come with ten extra steps. This one’s simple. And I like that.
⠀
I’m already thinking about repurchasing.
Not because I’m obsessed, but because I don’t feel like going back to how things were.
And I think that says enough.
