i’m in a rush to pack for a weekend hiking trip (which i didn’t even wanna go on btw lol) and i realized i’m almost outta sunscreen 😭 and obviously i’m tryna be THAT GIRL™️ who reapplies like a skincare queen in the woods 🏞️✨ so i panic-order this skin1004 centella sun stick (ya know the one??) bc tiktok said it was good for sensitive skin 🙄💗

it comes the next day and i’m like omg cuteee 💖 the packaging is so sleek?? like minimalist pastel YASS. it literally looks like it’s gonna fix my whole life 💅

🔆 day one: initial SLAY
i swipe it on in the car and i’m like... okay hold up?? it’s giving smooth. it’s giving matte but not dry. it’s giving “i woke up in seoul with glass skin” 🌸🫧 and i swear it blurred my pores a lil. like HELLO where was this filter when i needed it??

no scent (thank u jesus 🙌), no stinging, no white cast. so far we’re vibing 💕

🏔️ day two: downhill REAL FAST
girl. GIRL. tell me why my cheeks started getting red and patchy 😰 at first i was like “okay maybe it’s the cold air or smth??” (spoiler: it wasn’t.) i reapply before lunch and suddenly my face is itching. like itchYYYY 😵‍💫

i look in the mirror and my skin straight up looks… off. textured. bumpy. irritated 😫 i was like uhhh hi?? betrayal much?? 😡

💥 plot twist: my skin said ✨ABSOLUTELY NOT✨
got back to the cabin and my WHOLE face felt tight, like i’d put a plastic wrap over it. it was shiny in a weird way too. not glow. just… sweaty doll head realness. 💀 i ended up wiping it off with micellar water and my face literally went “thank u” 🙃

next morning? full blown breakout 🥲 chin + jawline + even tiny forehead bumps. and i don’t even get forehead bumps normally 😵‍♀️

🔬 theories i’ve cooked up in my head:
✅ maybe it trapped sweat/oil under the skin??
✅ maybe the formula was too occlusive for my clogged-prone pores??
✅ maybe my skin just hates being cute 😩
✅ all of the above 🙃

i still brought it home thinking “i’ll use it on my arms or something”... girl i tried. even on my chest it gave me an itchy rash 😭 WHO DO I RETURN THIS TO

final thoughts aka my skin’s review:
❌ didn’t break me out immediately but lowkey sneak-attacked me
❌ too occlusive for reactive/sensitive skin
❌ doesn’t layer well, starts feeling gross by the 3rd swipe
✅ cute in photos, i guess 🙄
✅ will look good rotting on my shelf 💁‍♀️
