Gentle Yet Effective, My Experience with Pyunkang Yul’s Moisture Serum

I’ve always had a soft spot for Pyunkang Yul and what stands out to me is their minimalist, ingredient-conscious approach that prioritizes gentle, non-sensitizing formulations. This serum is no exception.

What’s Inside?

□ Coptis Japonica Extract (Japanese Goldthread) : A traditional herbal ingredient prized for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, perfect for soothing compromised or reactive skin.

□ Olive Fruit Oil : A rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, this helps protect and nourish dry, dehydrated skin.

□ Fragrance-Free & Sensitizer-Free : True to Pyunkang Yul's philosophy, the formula avoids added fragrance or potentially irritating ingredients.

Texture & Application

Packaged with a dropper-style applicator, it’s easy to dispense just the right amount. The texture is lightweight, somewhere between watery and serum-like and spreads effortlessly over the skin. Once applied, it leaves a slightly tacky finish and a dewy sheen, which might be a plus or minus depending on your preference.

Personally, I found the finish a touch sticky at first, but it does settle in with time. The result? Noticeably softer, smoother skin by morning. My flaky patches were visibly reduced, and my complexion felt plumper and more hydrated overall. It’s a lovely option to layer under richer moisturizers, especially for dry or combination skin types needing a hydration boost.

How I Use It

After toning, I dispense one full dropper either directly onto my face without touching the skin or into my palm. I gently massage the serum across my face, then pat it in to aid absorption. I let it sit for 20–30 seconds before applying the next layer in my routine.

Recommended For

□ Skin types : Normal to dry

□ Concerns : Dehydration, dullness, mild irritation

□ Disclaimer : This product was gifted, but all opinions are entirely my own. Product info was cross-referenced with scientific literature and reputable skincare resources.

Thanks for the honest take on the stickiness! I was eyeing this but my combo skin hates tacky finishes during summer. Would this work better as part of a night routine only?

Yeah definitely. If you use this only for night routine and you can bear that stickiness a lil bit, it will be fine enough but tryna use a lil amount of this if you are worried about waking up with greasy face.

How did your eczema-prone areas react to this?

Actually didn't have any problems around them so I'd say they liked this!

I feel like Pyunkang Yul doesn’t get enough love for this serum.. People always talk about the toner or balm! I’ve emptied two bottles and it’s lowkey one of the best calming serums I’ve used. Doesn’t break me out, ever.

Seriously this needs more hypes!!! I'd personally love this serum much better than toner. The toner i felt boring.

@Influencer Toner-wise agree with you!!! Tried after all the shorts about this on Ig and it was just meh. The toner was like fancy water.

I’m currently on a retinol cycle and my skin’s been angry. Would you say this layers well with actives or better on off days?

Hmm for relaxing relaxing routine? I'd not apply any actives on my face. Just calming serum, this.

Not about this cream but my routine for escaping from actives includes Aestura 365 cream, which is the main of the routine. She's my all time skin-saver.
