I’ve always had a soft spot for Pyunkang Yul and what stands out to me is their minimalist, ingredient-conscious approach that prioritizes gentle, non-sensitizing formulations. This serum is no exception.
What’s Inside?
□ Coptis Japonica Extract (Japanese Goldthread) : A traditional herbal ingredient prized for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, perfect for soothing compromised or reactive skin.
□ Olive Fruit Oil : A rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids, this helps protect and nourish dry, dehydrated skin.
□ Fragrance-Free & Sensitizer-Free : True to Pyunkang Yul's philosophy, the formula avoids added fragrance or potentially irritating ingredients.
Texture & Application
Packaged with a dropper-style applicator, it’s easy to dispense just the right amount. The texture is lightweight, somewhere between watery and serum-like and spreads effortlessly over the skin. Once applied, it leaves a slightly tacky finish and a dewy sheen, which might be a plus or minus depending on your preference.
Personally, I found the finish a touch sticky at first, but it does settle in with time. The result? Noticeably softer, smoother skin by morning. My flaky patches were visibly reduced, and my complexion felt plumper and more hydrated overall. It’s a lovely option to layer under richer moisturizers, especially for dry or combination skin types needing a hydration boost.
How I Use It
After toning, I dispense one full dropper either directly onto my face without touching the skin or into my palm. I gently massage the serum across my face, then pat it in to aid absorption. I let it sit for 20–30 seconds before applying the next layer in my routine.
