Hope you liked my other parts, and if it's your first time to see this, don't miss out the part 1 and 2!
Since the first year I truly dove headfirst into skincare, I've tried and tested a number of skincare products. Of them, there were products repurchased, and politely passed on a fair share of products. Here’s a roundup of some of the oils and toners that stood out for better or worse, along with some notes on what I’m hoping to explore in the future.
Skin Type : DRY. I was on Accutane a few years ago, so lingering dryness is a constant. I still get the occasional breakout, and right now my main focus is fading hyperpigmentation. My skin’s pretty resilient so most products don’t irritate or break me out easily.
OILS & TONERS
Swisse Rose Hip Oil
Rating : 4.9/5 | Would Not Repurchase only because I want to try a pure one next
Picked this up on sale as a low-stakes intro to rose hip oil and I’m so glad I did. I rarely apply it directly to my skin, but mixing a drop into my moisturizer has been a game-changer. It adds just enough oomph to extend hydration and gives my moisturiser a little more lasting power. It sinks in nicely and doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. I also noticed a subtle improvement in hydration and possibly even in my hyperpigmentation. This version isn’t 100% rose hip oil, so I’ll probably opt for a pure formula next time.
The Ordinary Hemi-Squalane
Rating : 4.5/5 | Would Repurchase
This stuff is a steal. I haven’t tried regular squalane yet, but I’m a fan of this lightweight version. It’s super thin, almost watery so it can run off your hand if you’re not quick. Perfect for anyone who hates the feeling of traditional oils. I sometimes apply it straight to my face when I need a quick hydration boost, and it absorbs almost instantly. Bonus: I use a bit in my hair too.
Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion
Rating : 4/5 | Would Repurchase
If you’re into hydrating toners, this one’s a solid pick. I decanted mine into a spray bottle and love misting it on after cleansing. The formula is slightly pearlescent, kind of odd, but not in a bad way, and it really helped me out during a dry skin crisis. My only gripe is the scent. It has a fermented smell that’s… not great. Thankfully, it fades quickly.
Thanks for taking time to my review, and if you have any question, let me know!
Next time I'd bring my experience of treatment styling things so stay tuned!
