I’ve seen this cleanser everywhere lately — TikTok routines, Instagram shelfies, even a few GRWMs on YouTube.
Which honestly made me suspicious. I’m always wary of “aesthetic” cleansers that go viral but don’t actually do anything.
But after using the beplain Mung Bean pH-Balancing Cleansing Foam for about a month… I get it. It’s not just cute packaging or marketing hype — this stuff actually performs.
What really surprised me was the cleansing power. I tested it with some stubborn makeup (liquid eyeliner, matte lipstick, long-wear foundation) on the back of my hand.
After gently massaging the cleanser in for about 30 seconds and rinsing, almost everything was gone. I wasn’t expecting that from a foaming cleanser that claims to be gentle, but wow.
The texture is this creamy-gel base that turns into a fine foam — not super bubbly, but enough to make you feel like you’re really cleansing. It spreads smoothly, doesn’t drip, and rinses away easily with no slippery residue.
Now here’s the shocker: my skin didn’t feel dry afterward.
Usually, when a cleanser has this much cleansing ability, I brace myself for that tight, post-wash moment.
But with this? My skin just felt fresh. Balanced. Like I’d hit the reset button without erasing my barrier.
My skin is combo, leaning sensitive depending on the season, and I didn’t experience any redness, stinging, or dryness — even when I used it both morning and night.
That’s rare for me.
And it even helped reduce some tiny congestion bumps on my jawline.
I still follow with a toner and moisturizer, but what this cleanser does is create a clean, calm canvas. It doesn’t disrupt my routine — it supports it.
Bottom line? Don’t write this off as just another TikTok trend. The cleansing power is better than expected, the texture is satisfying, and the after-feel is honestly addictive.
This might not be a “miracle” product, but it’s reliable, way better than I expected, and one I’ll definitely repurchase.
* My daily makeup is almost no makeup tho with sunscreen, concealer, highlighter, mascara,a bit of contouring and a eyebrow pencil.
