Mise En Scene Perfect Watery Serum

Let me start by saying this: if you’ve ever tried the OG Mise En Scene Perfect Serum and felt it was just a tiny bit too heavy, you’re not alone — and this might be the solution you didn’t know you needed.

I’ve used the original serum on and off for years. It’s a cult classic for a reason — rich, nourishing, and gives your hair that super sleek finish. But over time (and especially in humid months), it started to feel a little too oily on my fine, naturally frizz-prone hair.

I was constantly trying to balance between enough product to tame my ends but not so much that I’d look like I hadn’t washed my hair in three days.

HOWEVER, the texture of this version is what sold me right away. It’s noticeably more fluid, almost essence-like, and absorbs much faster than the original. It feels featherlight in the palm, spreads like a dream, and doesn’t leave any greasy residue — just a soft, silky veil that makes my hair feel like it got an instant refresh.

I apply it on towel-dried hair, focusing on the lower half and ends. What I love is that even if I accidentally go overboard with one pump too many, it never weighs my hair down. That’s huge for someone with thin strands.

Fragrance-wise, it still has that signature Mise En Scene scent — fresh, salon-esque, but a bit more subtle than the original. I like that it doesn’t clash with other hair products or perfume.

🌟 After a few weeks of use, here’s what I’ve noticed:

• My hair looks shinier but not oily

• My ends are smoother, especially after heat styling

• It’s a great option for daily use without buildup

If the OG serum felt a bit “too much,” this is the lighter younger sibling that still gets the job done — just in a more elegant way.

10/10 would repurchase. Actually, I already have.
