Still using the Arencia Mochi Cleanser… even if it didn’t do what I hoped.

When I bought the Arencia Fresh Green Rice Mochi Cleanser, I was hoping for something that would help with clogged pores and minor congestion. You know that feeling — not full-blown breakouts, but that dull, uneven texture that comes from congested skin and buildup?

So I went in with hopes. But now, after a solid month of using it daily… I have mixed feelings.

Let’s start with the pore claims:

For me personally, this didn’t do much. I haven’t seen a reduction in blackheads, and my nose and chin still feel bumpy with congestion unless I exfoliate separately. If you’re targeting clogged pores and oil control, I wouldn’t recommend this as your main solution. It’s just not built to break through that level of buildup.

But — and this is a big “but” — there are a few things I do love about it, and they’re why I’m still using it.

First, the texture is gorgeous. It’s thick and slightly elastic when you squeeze it out — literally mochi-like — and then it foams up into a smooth, rich lather that feels soft and cushiony on the skin. Not overly bubbly, just plush enough to feel luxurious without being harsh.

Second, the scent is subtle but refreshing. It’s a very “clean” green scent — herbal but not medicinal, calming but not overly perfumed. It makes washing my face feel like a quiet moment of refresh instead of a chore.

On mornings when I don’t need anything dramatic — just a gentle refresh — this is perfect. It leaves my skin feeling clean but never tight, which I really appreciate, especially in transitional weather when my combo skin goes a bit unpredictable.

Would I repurchase it? Honestly… I’m still unsure. I think there are other cleansers out there that target my concerns more directly. But there’s something about the way this one feels that keeps me reaching for it — especially on days when my skin is fussy and doesn’t want to be messed with.

It’s kind of like a soft, non-judgy friend in cleanser form. Not trying to do too much. Not hyped. But comforting in a reliable, understated way.

So no, it’s not my skin-clearing holy grail. But it has earned its place in my rotation — especially for the days when I don’t want to push my skin, just support it.

That mochi-like description got me. Sometimes a cleanser's sensory experience is worth keeping it around, even if it's not solving all your problems.

This is why I have a morning cleanser which is gentle and comforting, and night cleanser which is active and deep-cleaning. Trying to make one product do everything always leads to disappointment.

Smart. And it just doesn't make sense that the cleanser which removes your makeup is also gentle enough to just use it in the morning?

At this point I don't expect one cleanser to solve all of my skin concerns.

Hard pass if it's not actually helping congestion.

Where did you get yours? I keep seeing Arencia on OLIVE YOUNG Global but wasn’t sure if it was worth it.

That mochi texture sounds sooo satisfying though… I’m such a sucker for packaging and bounce.

Yup, OLIVE YOUNG Global! Their delivery’s gotten a lot faster recently too. Honestly if you’re after sensorial cleansers and don’t expect miracles, it’s a fun add 🫶

I totally get what you mean about it not being a holy grail, but still… it stays ☺

So helpful!! I was torn between this and the Torriden Balanceful Cleanser. Sounds like Arencia is more for those chill-skin mornings? I might go for Torriden instead for my clogged T-zone days 😖

Used torriden one before and as someone with oily skin, loved it a lot. The freshness it gave me every morning was beyond my any experiences with other gentle cleansers.

Hmm I still don't get why ppl use a cleanser in the morning. Isn't water enough?
