When it comes to concealers, I’ve tried my fair share but the MAQuillAGE Dramatic Concealer has completely rewritten my expectations. I picked it up on a whim, mostly because I couldn’t find The Saem’s concealer pencil, and I’m honestly kicking myself for not grabbing three tubes. Accessibility is an issue where I live, and this gem deserves to be stocked everywhere.
Let’s start with the basics, the tube holds 8g of product, more than it looks at first glance and comes with a small, precise nozzle that dispenses just the right amount. It’s a simple but incredibly thoughtful detail, especially if you’re like me and hate wasting product.
Now, the formula. It’s creamy, but not overly so it hits that perfect middle ground, blendable, lightweight, and with enough pigment to cover my post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) and blemishes without looking cakey or feeling heavy. The finish? A soft, skin-like velvet that melds seamlessly with my natural complexion. I have normal skin that leans dry in winter, and this concealer doesn’t cling to dry patches or emphasize texture. In fact, it smooths everything over beautifully, even around trickier areas like my chin and between my brows where I get most of my breakouts.
What impressed me most is how well it wears. I’ve worn it for up to 10 hours, and it held up with no creasing, separation, or fading. If you have oilier skin, the natural glow might lean dewier over time, but on my normal skin it’s just right.
As for shade matching, I was initially concerned it looked a bit orange on the back of my hand but once blended, it settled into a surprisingly spot-on match. For reference, I wear shade 21 in Romand’s Nu Zero Cushion and have a neutral-warm undertone.
In comparison to other concealers I’ve used NARS Radiant Creamy, Sephora Best Skin Ever, NYX’s Color Corrector Palette, and Romand’s base products as this one stands out as the most reliable and flattering, especially considering the price point.
All in all, the MAQuillAGE Dramatic Concealer is, without question, my holy grail. If you can get your hands on it, do, it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a concealer. Just hoping I can snag a backup before I run out.
