I bought the CEZANNE Make Keep Base (Light Blue) after seeing it pop up in multiple YouTube “holy grail” videos — and let me just say:
WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG??? This is one of the best purchases I’ve made all year, and I say that with zero exaggeration.
Here’s what happened: I applied this at 7am before heading to work, layered my usual semi-matte cushion over it (Laneige Neo Matte, for reference), then ran around all day — subway, meetings, lunch in the sun, a quick errand run. Got home at 8pm, looked in the mirror expecting the usual breakdown…
But my base? Still intact. Not perfect, but way less melted than usual. I didn’t blot, I didn’t touch up, I didn’t even think about it. That’s when I realized — this base is doing something real.
First, the oil control is no joke. I normally start seeing shine on my nose and chin by midday, but this noticeably reduced my sebum, and I didn’t get that slippery, patchy look around my T-zone. My pores looked more blurred, and my cushion sat better for longer.
Second, it didn’t feel drying or tight like most fixers or matte primers. I usually avoid long-wear primers because they make my skin feel suffocated. But this one? Lightweight, slightly hydrating, and totally comfortable. Even by hour ten, I didn’t feel like ripping my makeup off.
The texture is fluid but easy to control — I squeeze out just a small amount and pat it across my T-zone and inner cheeks, where I tend to break down fastest. It gives a slight tone-up effect too (nothing ghostly, just clean and bright), and my cushion grabs onto it beautifully.
If you’re struggling with makeup longevity, oiliness, or base that fades by lunch, this is such a smart addition. Especially if you like semi-matte or satin cushion finishes — this makes them last so much longer without turning flat or dry.
I’m actually mad at myself for waiting this long to try it.
Now it’s one of those “never skip” steps in my routine.
And yes — I’ve already added a backup to my cart 🛒
