What's in My Shelf, Day 10

What's up grils! I wanted to share a roundup of all the skincare I’ve been using the past couple of months. I picked these up at the end of March so it’s been just over two months of consistent testing. Since I love writing quick reviews, I'm gonna show one item every day.

About Me

Skin type : Combo leaning dry

Skin concerns : Sensitivity, acne-prone, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and large pores

Climate : Mildly humid spring weather, nothing too extreme

Quick note : All of these products are fragrance and essential oil free. If I mention a scent, I’m referring to the natural scent that sometimes comes with unscented formulas.

So, Today I'm gonna talk about Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Gel Cream.

Rating : 1/5 Would Not Repurchase

I’m pretty sure the formula changed when they updated the packaging, at least based on what I could compare from a few different sources though I could be wrong. I originally bought this as my very first face cream about four years ago when I was just starting out with Asian skincare, and I remember it being a super hydrating, clear gel that left my skin plump and glowy.

The newer version, though, just doesn’t hit the same. It’s more of a white gel-cream texture, similar to something like the Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream, but it doesn’t feel particularly moisturizing. It’s very light and thin, and unfortunately, not in a good way for me. I ended up using it as a hand cream just to use it up, but even then, I found it underwhelming. My hands felt greasy at first, but somehow also dry again within ten minutes like I hadn’t applied anything at all.

Texture-wise, it has a slippery, almost silicone-like feel that just isn’t very pleasant. While I’m sure this might work well for someone with very oily skin or who lives in a humid climate, it’s definitely not for me. I’ll be passing this one on to someone else..

Here is my last day-shelf! Don't miss out!

Totally agree!! The old formula felt almost like a drink of water for my face. I used to layer it under sleeping packs in summer and it was perfect. The newer one just feels... meh. Like it vanishes too fast.

Ended up using it on my arms after waxing because it’s so non-irritating, but I’d never buy it again for my face. Kinda bummed because I trusted Isntree so much.

Only if they get back to the old formula, I'll purchase this. Other than that? Never.

Okay but lowkey glad it’s not just me — I thought I was losing it when I repurchased and it felt completely different.

If there are a lot of cases like you girls, the brands should know about this and improve the formulas!!
