What's up grils! I wanted to share a roundup of all the skincare I’ve been using the past couple of months. I picked these up at the end of March so it’s been just over two months of consistent testing. Since I love writing quick reviews, I'm gonna show one item every day.
About Me
Skin type : Combo leaning dry
Skin concerns : Sensitivity, acne-prone, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and large pores
Climate : Mildly humid spring weather, nothing too extreme
Quick note : All of these products are fragrance and essential oil free. If I mention a scent, I’m referring to the natural scent that sometimes comes with unscented formulas.
So, Today I'm gonna talk about Mary & May Vegan Peptide Bakuchiol Sunstick.
Rating : 3.5/5 Might Repurchase
This sunstick has a lot going for it and a few quirks you’ll want to keep in mind! It's a hybrid sunscreen with a soft, non-greasy texture that glides on super smoothly. The finish starts off more on the satin-matte side, but I noticed it became a bit dewier over time, especially with reapplication. If you’ve tried the Tocobo sunstick before, the feel is quite similar, which I personally enjoyed.
What makes this one stand out is the skincare boost because it’s packed with 25 peptides and bakuchiol, so you’re getting some anti-aging and hydrating benefits along with your sun protection. On first application, it blends in beautifully, no white cast, no stickiness, just a nice powdery feel with a soft floral scent that I found quite pleasant.
Now for the downsides. While it applies cleanly the first time, reapplication can get tricky, it starts to build up and can leave a slight white cast, especially if you don’t rub it in well. That kind of defeats the hands-free appeal of a sunstick, which is a bit of a bummer. I also noticed it transferred onto my clothes, which was more obvious when I wore darker colors, something to watch out for if you're applying on the go. Another little issue is the retractable packaging stopped working after a few uses, so I had to gently press it against my skin to push it back down. Not a deal-breaker, but not ideal either.
Overall, it’s a lovely-feeling sunstick with some great skincare ingredients, but I think it could use a few packaging and formula tweaks to make it a top pick. Still a solid option for all skin types if you're looking for something with a bit of extra care beyond just UV protection!
Here is my last day-shelf! Don't miss out!
