I keep seeing people say that cosmetic chemists make barely anything and that most of the big-name brands outsource formulation to third-party labs anyway. But at the same time, I love the science behind skincare and I’d love to be part of formulating products. If I go this route, am I setting myself up for a job that’s underpaid and undervalued, or is there actually room to make a good career out of it?
