La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ Review: A Reliable Skin Saver

I was honestly a bit skeptical before trying La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+, mainly because I've tried a lot of repair creams that don't live up to their promises. But after using it for a few weeks, I can say it’s actually pretty solid.

The texture is thick, but not too greasy. It feels soothing right when you apply it, and although it leaves a slight white cast at first, it disappears quickly. I’ve been using it on dry, irritated areas from over-exfoliating and on skin that’s recovering from a few blemishes, and it works wonders. It doesn’t cause any irritation or breakouts, which is a huge plus.

What’s good about this product is its formula. It has 5% Panthenol (Vitamin B5), which helps with skin healing and reducing inflammation. The Madecassoside derived from Centella Asiatica helps calm down irritation, and Zinc PCA is there to control excess oil and prevent acne. I’ve been using it at night after my retinol treatments, and it’s been really helpful in preventing that nasty dryness and peeling that usually happens.

It doesn’t have fragrance, alcohols, or parabens, which is a big deal for people with sensitive skin. It’s straightforward and gets the job done. However, it’s not perfect. It might feel a little heavy for warmer weather, and I noticed it can pill under heavier makeup, so I avoid using it in the morning if I plan to wear foundation.

But all in all, this product has been a reliable skin savior. I would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a simple, effective skin repair cream. It’s not a miracle worker, but it does exactly what it says on the label. It’s definitely a repurchase for me.
