Day 14 Review – Two weeks later, here’s how it’s holding up
Two weeks in, and I’ve gotta say — this sunscreen really has me reconsidering my whole relationship with SPF. I mean, I’ve tried a ton of sunscreens before, and I usually get bored or frustrated by the halfway mark. But this one? It’s definitely stuck in my routine, and that’s saying something.
The hydration levels are still on point. Every morning when I apply it, my skin feels plump and smooth. It's honestly been a nice replacement for my heavier moisturizers some days — like it does the job of both moisturizer and sunscreen. Which, for a minimalist like me, is a huge plus. Less product, less hassle.
What’s even better is that my skin still looks balanced by the end of the day. I’m not shiny in the T-zone, and I’m not dry on the cheeks. I used to have issues with sunscreen giving me either a greasy forehead or tightness around my chin, but this one keeps things just right. No greasy sheen, no weird dry patches.
The slight issue I mentioned last week with layering products still stands. If I layer too much under it, I get some pilling. So I’ve just simplified my morning routine to a gentle serum and this sunscreen, and it’s been working great.
What I’m still not 100% sold on, though, is the sun protection. I live in LA, and the sun can be brutal. After two weeks of daily use, I feel like I need something stronger for the really intense days. On regular days, it’s fine, but on days when I know I’ll be outdoors all day, I’m still reaching for something with higher protection, like my trusty EltaMD. This sunscreen does its job, but maybe not as aggressively as some other higher SPF formulas.
Still, my skin has been super happy with it. I haven’t had any irritation or dryness, which is a huge win for my sensitive skin. And honestly, it’s a lot more comfortable than some of the thicker, sticky sunscreens I’ve tried.
So yeah, it's staying in the routine for now, but I’m keeping my eyes open for any signs of irritation as we head into full summer. I'll keep you posted.
