Dr.Althea 345 relief cream review

I feel like this is one of those creams that doesn’t shout. It whispers. But once you listen, you realize it’s been doing exactly what your skin needed the whole time. Let me introduce you to the Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream, a moisturizer that slowly but surely became one of my most-used products.

I was initially drawn in by the simple, clean design (I’m a sucker for minimalist packaging), but what really sold me was how it feels on the skin.

The texture is light but creamy, somewhere between a gel and a lotion, and it melts in within seconds. No stickiness, no heavy residue, just this lovely natural finish that feels like skin, only healthier.

My skin can be reactive, especially when I’m testing actives or dealing with hormonal breakouts. And when that happens, a lot of creams either do too much (breaking me out) or not enough (leaving me dry and irritated). This one strikes a rare balance — it doesn’t clog pores but still gives a comforting layer of moisture that lasts.

What surprised me most is how well it layers. I’ve worn it under SPF, under foundation, and even reapplied it midday without it pilling or making me shiny. There’s a photo where I’m wearing a full face of makeup after using this cream underneath — and you can tell it just helps everything sit better.

It also seems to have a calming effect on redness. I won’t say it erased it overnight, but after a week or so of consistent use, the blotchiness around my nose and chin was definitely reduced. And no surprise here — it plays well with others. I’ve used it with niacinamide, vitamin C, retinol… no conflicts, no chaos.

Final verdict: it’s not trying to be a miracle worker. It’s just a really reliable daily cream that keeps your skin in balance. For anyone who’s sensitive, combination, or easily overwhelmed by heavy formulas, this is your safe zone. 🫶

I didn’t expect much from this cream but it really works quietly in the background. So underrated.

Ok but why does no one talk about this brand more? This cream is better than half the overpriced Sephora stuff.

@Female/Normal I think it's because of the name 'barrier cream.' It works tho!

Sounds boring tbh… give me results not just “balance.”

3 months in, here’s the tea.
+ Calms redness better than my $60 soothing cream
    + Doesn’t clog pores
    + My acnes almost gone
    - Jar packaging may cause bacterial contamination
    - Not hydrating enough for ultra-dry skin

I use this not as a moisturizer, but more like a literal 'barrier cream.' Dry girlies would def need something only for hydration

This cream is my SOS when my barrier’s wrecked from actives. No fragrance, no sting with instant relief. I’ve repurchased 4 times, and my skin has never felt safer.

I'm intrigued to see how things go because so many people would talk about how their acnes are cleared up with this cream!

Checked the formula. There are no essential oils, no alcohol, just ceramides and panthenol. It sounds like a quietly effective cream.
