Comfortable protection for sensitive, combo-dehydrated skin
After a string of sunscreen disappointments, both chemical and hybrid, I landed on the ISNTREE Hyaluronic Acid Natural Sun Cream, and it’s been a surprisingly solid match for my newly sensitive, combo-dry skin with a compromised barrier. Prior to this, I’d had some luck with Celimax’s sunscreen but found the formula too drying over time.
This one has a slightly thicker texture than your average sun cream, but don’t let that put you off. It’s neither greasy nor drying. In fact, it sits somewhere right in the middle, cushiony, moisturizing, yet lightweight. That said, the application isn’t the easiest. It reminds me of Dr.G’s mineral sunscreen in terms of effort; there’s a bit of tug and a lot of rubbing required to get it fully absorbed. My skin wasn’t thrilled about that at first, but I stuck with it because the zinc-based formula seemed to actively calm my skin. Within days, my barrier felt stronger and the irritation eased up, so the initial discomfort was short-lived.
Once applied, it leaves behind a natural matte finish and a light to medium white cast, depending on your skin tone. It’s not invisible, but it’s manageable. My skin feels gently moisturized and balanced, not dry, not heavy, which makes this ideal for those with oily but easily dehydrated skin types.
In terms of oil control, I’d rate it medium to high. On bare skin, my T-zone stayed impressively matte throughout the day. With makeup, some shine does creep in after 4 hours, but that’s pretty standard. It’s not waterproof, so don’t expect this to hold up through intense sweat or a swim, though it does rinse off easily with a second cleanser. I’ve noticed my skin stays noticeably untanned when I reapply in the afternoon, which speaks to the solid UV protection.
Oh, and no alcohol in the formula, a major win for reactive skin.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Especially for anyone struggling with sensitive, oily-yet-thirsty skin that’s not playing well with other sunscreens. It may not be the most elegant application-wise, but once it’s on, it’s calming, protective, and quietly reliable.
