Okay so I wasn’t even planning to like this but… here we are. The SK-II Genoptics CC Primer is weirdly good? Like, I got this thinking “ugh another overpriced fancy primer” but it actually does a lot more than I expected.
First off, it's not your typical silicone-y primer. It's more like a super lightweight cream with a bit of a tint—kinda like a CC cream and skincare hybrid. It has that signature SK-II “essence” smell, which I don’t mind (but fair warning, it’s def noticeable). Goes on smooth, no pilling, and somehow makes my skin look more even instantly, even before makeup. Blurs just enough and gives this glowy-but-not-greasy finish.
I’ve worn it alone on lazy days and it makes me look way more awake than I am. Under makeup, it helps everything sit nicer and last longer without turning into an oil slick by noon (combo skin here).
Would I say it’s worth the $$$? If you’re into the whole “skincare + makeup in one” vibe and love that SK-II glow, maybe yeah. If you just need a basic primer… there are cheaper options out there. But as a luxury flex that actually works? I’m into it.
