Innisfree Retinol Cica Repair Ampoule Review: A Gentle Starter Retinol for Smoother, Clearer Skin

I’ve been using the Innisfree Retinol Cica Repair Ampoule for a while now, and here’s what I’ve learned from my experience.

I originally bought it to target fine lines around my eyes, but in that area, I didn’t notice much visible improvement. Where it really shines, though, is in fading acne scars and post-inflammatory marks, my skin tone looked more even, and those stubborn dark spots lightened over time.

This ampoule is incredibly gentle, making it a great option for retinol beginners or those with sensitive skin. There were no dramatic overnight results, but gradually, I saw a general improvement in my skin’s condition : less redness, fewer breakouts, and a smoother texture overall. That said, be cautious with the amount you apply using too much can cause mild irritation.

The texture is light and watery, absorbing easily with no stickiness. It’s also fragrance-free, which I appreciate for sensitive or reactive skin. I applied it after cleansing and toning, and it layered well with other products in my routine.

My only downside? It’s a bit expensive for the amount you get, so I’d recommend waiting for a sale to make it a more budget-friendly addition.

TL;DR :

Great retinol for beginners

Works well on acne scars and skin texture

Didn’t significantly help with wrinkles

Gentle and calming, but use sparingly

Watery, fast-absorbing, and unscented

Pricey for the amount, best to buy on sale

It's a holy grail for my very sensitive skin! I was always feel sus about how retinol works but this got me so good! I even use this everyday, which is not recommended for sensitive skin but there was no breakout so far

Always felt a bit of irritation right after putting on other retinol but this one never irritates me and keeps improving my skin, making look cleaner and smoother

Wish it was also good at hydrating, other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with the process of this ampoule
