2024 was the year of sunscreen for me. Every single one I tried turned out to be a win in its own way, and honestly, my skin has never felt more protected or loved. I'm a dry-leaning skin girly, living in a tropical, high-humidity climate, and I’m on taz + azelaic acid several times a week, so finding gentle yet effective SPFs is key.
Here’s the rundown on four sunscreens I’ve been loving :
1. Torriden Dive-In Watery Moisture Sunscreen ★★★★☆ (3.5/5)
A lesser-known gem with fantastic UV protection and a creamy texture that melts in fairly easily. It leaves a soft dewy finish that dry skin types will appreciate.
💧 Great for hydration, but it can feel a bit too creamy in high heat, and I’ve noticed a light sting if my barrier’s feeling sensitive.
➡️ Would Repurchase, already on my second tube!
2. Tocobo Bio Watery Sun Cream ★★★★☆ (4/5)
OBSESSED with the milky, fluid texture. It spreads like a dream and settles into a silky, almost primer-like finish with a hint of dewiness. Also : cute, compact bottle = travel win.
BUT… the fragrance is intense. It smells like an entire flower bouquet just moved into my face, and I wish I could mute it.
➡️ Would Repurchase, but only if I’m in a floral-forgiving mood.
3. SoonJung Director’s Moisture Sunscreen ★★★★★★★★★★ (∞/5)
This one shocked me. Where are the reviews?! This might be the most underrated sunscreen of the year.
Featherlight, silky, radiant with zero tackiness, it disappears in seconds and leaves the skin soft, dry to touch, but still glowing. No eye sting, no drama.
Dry skin folks may want to layer a moisturizer underneath, but otherwise : chef’s kiss.
➡️ Would Repurchase forever and ever.
4. Isntree Watery Sun Gel ★★★★★ (5/5)
My OG holy grail and still the one I trust most. Lightweight yet deeply hydrating, dewy without being sticky, and never irritates no matter how active my routine is.
The sunscreen that made me love sunscreen.
➡️ Would Repurchase until the end of time.
Stay tuned for Part 2, more sunscreen gems coming your way ☀️
