My Skin Feels Like It Drinks Water Now — Thanks to This Sunscreen

I’ve tried so many sunscreens in the past few years. Some were too greasy. Some broke me out. Others made my makeup slide off by lunchtime. As someone with dry-combination skin living in a city with lots of sun but also sudden cold winds, I need something that protects, hydrates, and behaves well under layers. The SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum? It gets it.

Texture: The Silkiest SPF I’ve Tried ✨️✨️💭

Let’s talk about the star: the texture. This is one of those formulas where you pump it out and instantly know it’s different. It’s like a lightweight gel-serum, not heavy or creamy, and it glides across your skin like water. It spreads easily and sinks in without any stickiness or film.

No white cast. No heaviness. No pilling. Just… smooth, plump, calm skin.

It doesn’t leave a matte finish, but it’s not overly dewy either — more like a natural skin glow. If you like your skin to look fresh and hydrated rather than flat, this will be your jam.

How it fits into my routine 💗

I use it every morning, after toner and serum. I’ve even layered it over a richer cream on colder days and it still sits beautifully. On hot, humid days, I can skip a moisturizer and just go straight to this because it has that hydrating serum feel that keeps my skin feeling moist and bouncy throughout the day.

Makeup sits so well on top of it — I don’t even need a separate primer most days. My foundation doesn’t break apart around the nose or forehead like it used to with heavier sunscreens.

Skin benefits: more than just protection 😶‍🌫️👑

Here’s where the “serum” part really earns its name. It contains hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and centella asiatica extract, which are all deeply soothing and hydrating. I have mild redness around my cheeks and occasional tightness in the afternoon, especially when I use actives like BHA the night before. This sunscreen visibly calms that down.

After 4 weeks of use, I noticed my skin feels more comfortable during the day. Less tightness. Less blotchiness. Even my skin tone looks a bit more even, although that could be a combo of consistent SPF use and gentle ingredients doing their thing.

Same!! I didn’t expect a sunscreen to make my skin feel hydrated. It really feels like a serum in disguise.

It’s the only chemical SPF that hasn’t made me itch or tingle around my nose. I keep recommending it to people who are scared of sunscreens.

The texture is unreal. It spreads like a fluid but sets fast, no stickiness. And under makeup? So good.

@Influencer If you check the INCI, it’s heavy on humectants and low on fragrance, which honestly makes sense. It’s basically a moisture-locking SPF.

That explains why it works even when I’m skipping toner in the morning.

I actually stopped using a separate essence in the AM because of this. It’s that good.

Did the same! Toner + this SPF = no pilling, no chaos.

@Influencer I will say though, if your skin leans oily, you might need a little powder over it by noon.

I just blot once with a tissue and I’m fine. Still way better than my old dewy sunscreens that never dried down.

Anyone know how it holds up in humid climates? I’m going to Southeast Asia soon and wondering if it’s too light for outdoor days.

Tested it in Bangkok. Worked fine as long as I reapplied. Didn’t sting when I was sweaty either.
