Hiiiiiiiii today I am going to introduce an item that went viral in South Korea.

I follow some korean influencers who review skincare items on instagram and around nowadays, all of them have been reviewing this one item like crazy!!

There were also some challenges going on enduring the pain of high level of reedle shot.

It is VT Reedle shot 100 essence.

To begin with, so WHAT IS REEDLE SHOT btw??????

It was smth compeletly new to me.

Why would u put reedle in ur skin? I was kinda afraid at first worried it might irritate my skin. 

There are CICA reedle in VT reedle shot essence and they are microsized, naturally derived microparticulate ingredients to help absorption. 

No worry bc it is 14times thineer than the pores.

So they aid in absorption by having a physical derma delivery system. 

My skin type is acne-prone, redness-prone,,,,,and basically prone to every cons in skin :((((((

But u should also keep in mind that my skin is not very sensitive.

Even though i am acne-prone, that's bc of too much oil on my skin but my skin won't go bad just bc i used new skincare with foreign ingredients.

My skin is very oily and thanks to that, got some pores around my nose.... :(

Bc of this skin type, i prefer skincare products with light texture that are NOT STICKY AT ALL.

My skincare routine starts with toner, and then essence and finish with moisturizer.

I don't use ampoule since they r usually too heavy for me.

I also didnt expect any moisturizing effect from this VT reedle shot essence.

Or also soothing effect.

The only thing i expected from this essence was pore tightening.

And maybe making my skin slightly smoother i guess??? idk

So the first thing i was wondering was what is this reedles made of??

According to the official website, CICA reedle is made up of 99% jnaturally-derived silica ingredient and CICA ingredients such as cantele asiatica extract. And i guess the cica ingredient is the key material of this reedle.

They also said that the raw material used for the reedle shot went through purification or smth which i actually dc...

These reedles improve pore and skin texture by increasing the depth, amount, and speed of absorption. 

As u can see from this graph, thanks to the reedle, absorption has improved a lot.

But as a consumer, it is always hard to feel the improvement in absorption very well.

But it did have a light texture which didnt last long on skin.

Maybe that is bc of its absorption??? 

[Pore tightening]

So now let's talk about the main effect that i expected from this reedle shot.

PORE TIGHTENING

To get straight to the point, did it work?

YES IT DID.

Was it as much as the ad?

NO IT WASNT.

It did work for pore tightening. I could feel it by myself.

But pores can't disappear. THEY CANT.

The effect of pore tightening skincare is by decreasing the size of pores not eliminating.

They TIGHTEN the pores.

Yk, when ur skin is overheated, or overly oily, pores will get bigger bc they are loosened.

After using this essence, I could feel that my pores are tightened and got smaller.

Not only pores but i could feel that my entire face tightened up.

If felt more plump and firmer. 

I was satisfied with its effect itself but felt that the ad was just TOO MUCH.

As u can see in this pic from the brand, they describe it as eliminating almost all of the pores a person has. 

U cant eliminate pores.

Even though i felt pores r tightened after using reedle shot, it would get loosened and get bigger again when my face get overheated.

So it is not a permanent effect.

But whenever u see influencer's ad, they describe it as all of their pores disappeared.

So i just wanted u to keep in mind that they cant eliminate pores.

But I was actually very satisfied at its pore tightening effect!

Its immediate effect is noticeable and definetly worth praising!

It may help to actually decrease(not tightening) your pore size if u use it as a routine.

[Skin surface]

It also helped in smoothing the skin surface.

Even though I exofilate once a week, certain areas of my skin felt rough.

Especially around chin.

This reedle shot essence actually helped getting rid of those rough areas.

My skin felt a lot smoother after using this essence.

[Irritating?]

Since there were challenges going on about enduring the pain of reedle shot, I got reedle shot 100.

There r 5 types of reedle shot. 50,100,300,700,1000

They say the effects get stronger when the number increase but i was afraid of irritation so chose 100.

Since, i don't have a sensitive skin type, 100 was totally ok for me.

It wasn't irritaing at all.

But i won't recommend reedle shot to girlies with inflammatory acne or pus-filled acne.

The official website tells us to dont use it to wounded areas and inflammatory acne and pus-filled acnes are actually wounds in face.

So it may hurt badly if it meets reedle shot.

Also, 100 was totally ok for me but it varies by ppl so u must try it on your hand before using it on your face to check how strong it is. 

Even though it is proven to be not irritating, I recommend you to start from lower level and then gradually move on to higher levels.

[Texture]

I dont have much to talk about its texture.

It was just common light essence.

Since its absorption increased thanks to the reedles, I felt that its lighter than most of the essence.

They wont last long on your skin.

It suits me perfectly but if you have a dry skin and expects some hydrating effect from this, i wont recommend it.

This essence has nothing to do with hydration.

It is very light.

[Overall rate]

I would rate it around 3.5-4 / 5

I loved its skin tightening effect.

It made my entire skin plumped and firm.

And also smoothened my skin.

But it doesnt have any hydration effect and can be irritating to inflammatory acnes

so i coudnt use it when there are inflammatory breakouts.
