**Spoiler! This brand is a hero for my acnes
I’ve been using Hero Cosmetics for over a year now and have tried a fair number of their products. While their product lineup isn’t huge, I’ve tested several of their pimple patches and both versions of their Rescue Balm. I bought these hoping to get some help with my acne and blackheads, which can get pretty bad.
Mighty Patch Original
Pros
- Helps protect pimples from dirt and picking
- Minimizes touching
- Works well under makeup
- Stays put for hours
Cons
- Can get pricey if you break out frequently
My take
A bit expensive, but solid. It’s basically a hydrocolloid sticker, so once you mess up the application (or drop it), it’s a goner. I recommend using clean tweezers to apply. Overall, a reliable go-to when I need a patch fast.
Mighty Patch Invisible+
Pros
- All the benefits of the original
- Thinner and less noticeable, ideal for daytime wear
Cons
- Nearly $20 for a pack?! Feels steep
- Same price issue as the original
My take
Same as the Original but more discreet. As Hero says, this one’s great for wearing during the day. But the price still makes my wallet cry a little.
Micropoint for Blemishes
Pros
- My holy grail pimple patch
- Actually works on deep, cystic, hormonal acne
- Gentle enough for my sensitive skin
Cons
- Only 6 in a pack
- Can be a bit drying
My take
Hands down my favorite product from Hero and honestly from any acne patch brand. If you suffer from painful, under-the-skin breakouts, this is absolutely worth trying. I have really sensitive skin and it still worked beautifully without irritation. 10/10 would recommend.
Rescue Balm (Original - Purple)
Pros
- Helps speed up the healing process post-pimple
- Not drying or greasy
- Calms flaking skin
Cons
- Slight stinging on broken or irritated skin
- A little pricey, but there’s a mini under $10
My take
This is great for healing those angry, popped pimples. I did experience some burning, especially when my skin was super inflamed but it faded after 10 minutes. It’s best on surface-level pimples and helps with any post-acne flakiness. Worth trying, especially the mini size.
Rescue Balm +Red Correct
Pros
- Lightly neutralizes redness on fair to medium skin
- Great for dry, flaky, irritated skin
Cons
- Shade is tinted orange, better suited for lighter skin tones
- Lack of inclusivity (only marketed toward pale complexions)
My take
I’m very fair-skinned, and this works well for my redness, especially in winter. It gives a little color correction and calms flaky spots. That said, it does lean orange, so if you’re cool-toned or darker-skinned, this may not blend well. I didn’t find any representation for deeper skin tones on Hero’s website or socials, so that’s something to keep in mind.
Long Story Short
Hero Cosmetics, you’re honestly doing pretty well. If you’ve got sensitive skin, acne flare-ups, redness, or dry patches, a lot of these products are worth looking into. They’re not miracle workers, but they’re dependable, especially the Micropoint patch and Rescue Balm.
Thanks if you made it this far! I know this was long, but I wanted to give an honest breakdown. Feel free to drop questions if you need any clarification (or want to roast my spelling and I get it). Preesh :)
