I’ve been using the ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Tone Up Sun Cream for a few weeks now, and overall? It’s become my easy reach for everyday no-makeup days. That said, I do have some mixed feelings.
Let’s start with the good: I really like the tone-up effect.
It’s subtle — not that chalky, lavender-white kind of cast — just a soft brightening that makes my skin look more even and awake.
It blurs a little redness, tones down dullness, and doesn’t look fake or gray in natural light. For reference, I have light-medium neutral skin and it blends in without needing too much work.
The texture is lightweight, creamy but not too rich. It applies smoothly, and sets down into a slightly dewy (but not oily) finish. It doesn’t pill with other products, and it wears well under concealer or powder if I want a little more coverage.
Now for the one drawback: if my skin is feeling extra sensitive (post-exfoliation, allergies, dry weather, etc), I do feel a slight tingling or itchiness after applying. It’s not a full-blown reaction, and it goes away, but it’s enough to make me cautious on those days. I wouldn’t call it a calming formula — more of a makeup-skincare hybrid.
Still, for most days? I enjoy it. It’s pretty, easy to use, and doesn’t make me look greasy mid-day. That’s rare for tone-up sunscreens, especially in this kind of humid weather.
That said… I recently saw that Abib released a new tone-up CC sunscreen, and I’ll admit I’m curious. If it turns out to be gentler with a similar finish, I might switch.
For now, though, this one stays in my bag — just maybe not on super sensitive-skin days.
