Before Actuality Getting in
Skin Type : Dry
Climate : Dry and windy
Finding a sunscreen that strikes the perfect balance between hydration and wearability can be tricky, especially when you're dealing with dry skin in a windy climate. I was on the hunt for something that wouldn’t feel greasy or attract every stray hair to my face, and Skin1004’s Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum came highly recommended.
Texture
This sunscreen has a lightweight lotion consistency that blends effortlessly into the skin. Compared to the ever-popular Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun, I found this formula a touch less dewy and slightly more refined, hydrating without tipping over into greasy territory.
Ingredients
Noteworthy highlights include niacinamide, centella asiatica, and hyaluronic acid, which are a dream trio for soothing, calming, and replenishing dry skin.
Scent
There’s no detectable fragrance, which I personally love. Unlike many chemical sunscreens that come with that sharp, synthetic scent, this one wears invisibly, even under a mask, I never caught a whiff.
Performance
As the seasons shifted and my T-zone started producing more oil, I appreciated that this sunscreen didn’t exacerbate the shine. However, it does have one drawback: sweat resistance. This formula doesn’t hold up well in heat or humidity. On warmer days or during physical activity, it tends to break down faster than I’d like.
That said, for cool-to-mild weather, it’s been a great daily option, so hydrating, in fact, that I’ve been able to skip my moisturizer and go straight from toner and serum to SPF without feeling dry. It keeps my skin calm, comfortable, and balanced.
Conclusions
A lovely option for dry or combo skin types, especially in cooler or drier climates. If you’re heading into summer or planning to be outdoors for long periods, though, you might want something more sweat-proof. I’m planning to try the Anessa Sun Milk next for those hotter days.
