Hi girlies! About a year ago, I had tried the Hada Labo Perfect Gel, which I still consider a holy grail product as it completely transformed my skin. But with colder weather settling in, I found that the gel alone wasn’t quite enough for my sensitive, acne-prone, and clog-prone skin. That’s where the Hada Labo Shirojyun Premium Milk came in, and it’s been an unexpected standout.
This product is a brilliant addition to any acne-friendly skincare routine. It’s moisturizing without being heavy, and I can easily adjust the amount based on how my skin is feeling that day. Despite being lightweight, it provides lasting hydration and leaves my skin feeling soothed and plump.
While I can’t speak to its effect on sun damage, I do have some post-inflammatory erythema from breakouts. This milk hasn’t dramatically faded those red marks, but I do feel like my overall complexion looks brighter and healthier. It’s one of those quietly effective products that just supports your skin barrier and leaves everything feeling balanced.
One of the best parts? It hasn’t caused any breakouts or irritation with no small feat for my reactive skin. The formula also includes brightening ingredients, so it serves multiple purposes, and it's affordable compared to many other options in this category. Plus, refills are available on YesStyle, which is always a win for sustainability and savings.
I did run the ingredients through an INCI decoder, and one or two components flagged as potentially comedogenic or fungal acne triggers. If you’re highly sensitive to either, I recommend double-checking. Personally, I didn’t experience any issues, and I’m usually quite reactive to that sort of thing.
I’m now very curious about the regular Shirojyun Lotion, which is often recommended as a soothing, anti-inflammatory toner for acne-prone skin. If you’ve tried the reformulation, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
So, I’m genuinely impressed with Hada Labo’s lineup. I think more attention should be given to their products, especially for those of us dealing with acne-prone skin and dehydration. I’d even love to see them expand their range a little though admittedly, part of their charm is the simplicity and functionality of their formulations.
If you have any experience with any products of Hada Labo, let's share it!
