Dive In But Don’t Expect Depth : The Toner That Fell Flat

Torriden Dive In Hyaluronic Acid Toner Is A Drop in the Ocean?

Rating : ★☆☆☆☆

I approach every product with an open mind and a healthy dose of skepticism, especially when it's riding the wave of a viral trend. The Torriden Dive In Hyaluronic Acid Toner is one such product, often paired with its better-loved serum counterpart and lauded for its supposed hydration powers.

But let’s be honest : hype can only float a product so far.

I tested this in a dry climate on oily skin, a combination that demands a toner capable of providing lightweight hydration without triggering excess sebum. Unfortunately, this one came up short, way short.

The texture is indistinguishable from water. And not in a silky, sensorially elegant way, but in a blink-and-you-missed-it kind of way. It pours like water, feels like water, and absorbs like... you guessed it, water. And while there’s a faint cosmetic scent that lingers, it adds nothing of value.

In terms of hydration, this toner simply didn’t deliver. It left no noticeable plumping, no added bounce, no lingering moisture, nothing. I even layered it under the Dive In serum, hoping the duo might create synergy, but the combination only made me wonder if I’d misunderstood the assignment. Ironically, the serum felt thicker and more substantial than the toner, which isn't ideal for a step that’s supposed to prep and soften the skin.

The one silver lining? I may have found a new role for it as part of Korea’s “hyaluronic shower” trend, a pre-shower step where you slather on hyaluronic acid to capitalize on the steam. It’s a bit of a last-ditch effort, but since I won’t be repurchasing, repurposing seemed like a logical move.

In conclusion : if you’re looking for hydration, there are better, more effective options that respect both your wallet and your skin barrier. For me, this toner was less of a dive in and more of a washout.

I loved it a lot, now that it's not sticky at all and absorbed well

This toner is refreshing but..hmm somehow it feels a lil bit watery, so I'd not repurchase it

Well, it didn't solve my dryness so I had to use other skincare products more than usual

Overly hyped IMO, doesn't seem to have anything special 🤔
