A New Staple in My SOS Skincare Routine — MEDIHEAL Madecassoside Mask

I don’t usually say this about sheet masks, but this one actually calms my skin down in real time. I’ve gone through about 7 of these already, and I can confidently say it’s become one of my must-haves when my skin is irritated, red, or just generally having a meltdown.

So I am lowkey addicted to the mask sheet and (ofc) korean mask sheets are the bestest so I had to try this one as well!! I've tried Mediheal ✨(the OG)✨, Biodance bio collagen mask(overnight queen 💅), and this will be my third one!

As you could tell, I usually don't switch up my mask sheets (like I would rather stick with one brand/product that I like) but EVERY SINGLE TIME I look up 'mask sheet' on olive young this one pops up and I couldn't resist this time 🤗❤

Let's get into the point then!

Fit & texture:

The sheet is super thin and clings to the skin like second skin — zero slipping, no flapping edges. It’s soaked in just the right amount of essence: not dripping wet, but fully saturated. You know how annoying it is to see all the essence just dripping all over the place while you take it out and put it on your face.

I also hate masks that slide off or leave puddles everywhere, and this one stays put the entire 15–20 minutes. The essence itself has a watery-gel texture that feels cooling the second you put it on, even without refrigerating it.

Scent:

Basically NONE. If anything, there’s a very faint herbal touch, but it’s gone in seconds — amazing if you’re scent-sensitive. I personally am not SUPER sensitive to scent and would rather prefer herbal scent, so it was perfect for me. (And haven't seen any of my friends complaining about the scent.

Effects:

Here’s where this mask REALLY shines. I had some irritation on my cheeks from over-exfoliating (classic me), and after using this, the redness was noticeably down. My skin felt soothed, less warm, and visibly smoother the next morning. And I honestly don't really expect much from the mask sheet itself (except like calming down because it's cooling) but this one ACTUALLY did something to my skin and I'm impressed about it.

It doesn’t clog pores or feel heavy afterward, which is a big win if you’re acne-prone like I am.

I normally use them before I go to bed, right after cleansing. So I cleanse my face, put this thing on my face, and finish up with the cream I'm obsessed with lately — torriden dive in soothing cream.

I also use it before makeup if my skin’s feeling inflamed or patchy — it genuinely helps my foundation sit better, and the glow it leaves is subtle but healthy-looking.

Final thoughts:

This isn’t one of those flashy, trendy masks. It’s practical, reliable, and does what it claims. If you need a solid calming mask with a non-irritating formula that actually delivers, this is the one. I’ll always keep a few in my skincare drawer for emergencies (or just stressful skin days).

Madecassoside is such a sleeper-hit ingredient. It’s a derivative of centella, so it’s amazing for barrier repair and inflammation. No surprise it worked so well for your over-exfoliated skin!

Love this! You convinced me. I’ve only tried the Mediheal tea tree masks before, but I’ve been hunting for something gentler, especially with summer irritation coming in hot.

How often do you use it when your skin is irritated? Also wondering if it works well post-sun exposure or more for barrier damage?

Is it better than the Dr. Jart Cica one? I'm debating between the two.
