The SPF I Bought Because I’m Tired of Hating SPF

Day 7 Review — One week in, is it still working?

Alright, it’s been a week since I started using SKIN1004’s Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum, and I’m ready to update my thoughts. Here’s the rundown:

First, let me just say that for the first time in forever, I’ve actually looked forward to applying sunscreen every morning. It sounds ridiculous, but after years of tolerating sunscreen like it was a chore, this one’s a game-changer. It’s still super lightweight, and my skin is honestly a lot more hydrated than it usually is with most sunscreens.

I haven’t had any issues with irritation or breakouts — which is huge for me. My skin's been calm and smooth, and the sunscreen doesn’t feel like it’s clogging my pores. It’s definitely not heavy, and unlike other SPF formulas I’ve tried, this one doesn’t leave my skin looking like a greasy mess by lunchtime.

🟢 I noticed my skin still feels soft and not tight by midday.
🟢 The “dewy” look is subtle, not shiny or greasy, just enough hydration.
🟢 I also haven’t had any sensitivity around my eyes or mouth area, which is where I often get reactions.

But there’s a couple of things I’ve noticed that are a bit... off. For one, if I try to layer too many products under it, like a thick moisturizer or serum, it can start to ball up a bit. The best way to use this is to keep it simple underneath — a thin layer of moisturizer, then the sunscreen.

Also, as much as I love how lightweight it is, it doesn’t give the same full protection I get from my previous SPF (EltaMD UV Clear). I don’t feel as shielded from the sun — it’s good, but not quite as high-powered as some other sunscreens I’ve used.

Despite those little quirks, I’m still digging it. The hydration factor is great, it hasn’t broken me out, and it’s comfortable to wear daily. Will it be my all-time favorite? Maybe not. But for now, it’s doing its job without any of the usual sunscreen drama.

I’ll check back in after two weeks to see if it’s still working its magic.
