🌿 Mugwort Magic : Hanyul’s Watery Calming Cream and the Art of Skin Soothing

Overview

The Hanyul Pure Artemisia Watery Calming Cream is a lightweight gel-cream moisturizer designed to soothe and hydrate sensitive skin. Infused with Artemisia (Mugwort) extract, it aims to calm irritated skin while providing lasting moisture.

Packaging & Texture

Housed in a minimalist aqua-green jar reminiscent of traditional Korean pottery, the cream exudes a sense of calm even before application. The texture is a refreshing gel-cream that melts into the skin, offering immediate relief without any greasy residue.

 Scent

The cream features a fresh, green scent akin to cut grass, complemented by subtle floral undertones. While fragranced, it is formulated to be gentle, even on sensitive skin.

Key Ingredients

- Artemisia Argyi Leaf Water : Known for its soothing properties, it helps calm irritated skin.

- Niacinamide : A multi-tasking ingredient that brightens skin tone and strengthens the skin barrier.

- Panthenol & Glycerin : Provide deep hydration and enhance skin elasticity.

- Centella Asiatica Extract : Offers antioxidant benefits and aids in skin repair.

- Lactobacillus Ferment : A probiotic that supports skin's natural defenses.

Performance

Ideal for both morning and evening use, this cream absorbs quickly, leaving the skin feeling soft, hydrated, and calm. It's particularly beneficial for those with sensitive or sensitized skin, providing relief from redness and irritation. Users have reported improved skin texture and a noticeable glow with consistent use.

Pros

- Lightweight, non-greasy formula suitable for all skin types.

- Provides immediate and lasting hydration.

- Soothes irritated and sensitive skin effectively.

- Pleasant, calming scent enhances the application experience.

- Free from parabens, artificial colorants, mineral oil, and animal-derived ingredients.

Cons

- The inclusion of fragrance, while pleasant, may not suit those with fragrance sensitivities.

- The jar packaging lacks a spatula, which might be a concern for hygiene-conscious users.

Final Thoughts

The Hanyul Pure Artemisia Watery Calming Cream stands out as a soothing, hydrating option for those seeking relief from skin irritation without the heaviness of traditional creams. I love the idea of using Artemisia (Mugwort) for sensitive skin! It sounds so soothing. How light is the texture, though? I’m looking for something that won’t feel too heavy.

The texture is amazing, super lightweight and absorbs quickly. It leaves your skin soft without any greasy feeling. I’m all about that since I have combo skin. The scent is fresh, kind of grassy, but not overwhelming. Anyone sensitive to fragrances tried it?

I’m curious about the scent. I tend to be sensitive to fragrance, so I’d be wary. Does it linger for long after applying, or is it more of a quick fade? I’m also a fan of anything with Niacinamide for brightening, so this could be a good match.

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks, and my skin feels so much calmer. It really helped with redness and irritation. I like the packaging too.so pretty and minimal. The only downside for me is the jar, it would’ve been nice to have a spatula, especially for hygiene. Anyone else feel the same?

The jar is cute, but yeah, a spatula would’ve been a good touch. As for the cream, I love how calming it is. It’s perfect for mornings when my skin feels irritated. Definitely been noticing a smoother texture and a bit of a glow too. Does anyone use this as their only moisturizer, or do you layer it with something else?

@Influencer I’m definitely intrigued now! The fact that it’s so soothing without being heavy is a big win for me. I’m also into Niacinamide and Centella, so this sounds like it checks all the boxes. I’ll have to try it! Anyone tried it with makeup yet? Does it work well under foundation?

@Influencer I’ve used it under makeup a few times, and it’s worked great! It gives a nice, hydrated base without making my skin too slick. It’s been a great moisturizer for the morning since it absorbs quickly.

That’s good to know! I was worried it might be too hydrating under makeup. The calming properties seem like a good reason to try it, plus, I could use something to help with redness. Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

No problem! Honestly, if you’re looking for something to calm and hydrate, this is a great option. I’ve been loving it. Just don’t forget to patch test if you're worried about fragrance sensitivity!

Agreed on the patch test! But overall, I think this cream is a great pick for sensitive skin. I’m definitely sold on it. Can’t wait to keep using it!

@Influencer I’ve layered it with a couple of serums, and it’s been fine! I usually go for something hydrating underneath, and it sits really well on top. It doesn’t pill, which is a huge plus for me. If you’re using a more active serum, though, I’d probably apply the serum first and wait a minute for it to absorb before adding the cream.

That’s really helpful! I’m always worried about pilling with new products, especially when layering. Good to know it works well. I’ve got a hydrating serum that I’ll probably pair it with hoping it gives my skin that calm, glowing look.
