There’s something about the quiet ritual of Sunday night beauty — a little extra time, a little more care, and the subconscious hope that on Monday, we’ll wake up feeling like our lives are a little bit more put together.
For the past few months, my “hair therapy” step in that ritual has been the Fino Premium Touch Essence Hair Mask.
No fancy marketing, no influencer overhype — just a shiny red lid that I kept seeing in Korean drugstores and finally gave in to. (it’s actually a japanese product but you get what I mean)
I first got it because of my Korean friend. Literally from the first time I saw her, I was always curious what she does for her hair but I had to wait until I got close enough to ask (haha rip to all introverts) and she recommended me this one!
Anyways, here’s how it holds up.
When it first got delivered, I just.. had to try it immediately. I normally wash my hair in the morning but that night, I just gave it a try haha.
First thing I noticed was that it's scoopable, dense, and almost balm-like in texture — this isn’t your average lightweight hair mask. It has weight, in a good way. My hair has been super frizzy and curly (not in a cute wavy way but in annoying way) and I needed something to calm my hair down.
The consistency clings to your strands like a silk wrap. As you smooth it through towel-dried hair, it coats every section with this creamy, rich layer that feels luxurious without being slippery.
The ‘After’ Feeling (aka the Real Test):
After rinsing (which takes a bit longer than average, thanks to the thickness), the transformation is noticeable. My hair felt like someone pressed the reset button. Not greasy, not overly glossy — just soft, hydrated, and undone-looking in the best possible way. It gave me that Korean drama heroine texture: healthy, touchable hair that still feels like hair.
Most hair masks give me either too much slip (read: limp) or too much fake coating. This one walks the line. It softens without weighing down. The ends, where my balayage damage lives rent-free, looked smoother and far less straw-like. No magic trickery, just solid, visible improvement.
Scent & Sensory Notes:
Lightly floral with a slightly nostalgic “clean salon” scent. It’s soft enough to layer other fragrances on top of, and never feels overwhelming (horray to perfume lovers)
Who Should Try It?
If your hair is dry, tangled, color-treated, heat-damaged — or just in need of a pick-me-up — this is worth a spot in your shower caddy. And if you are just looking to add some booster into your hair routine, this is it. I've used thousands of(no) hair seurms and stuff but this was probs the only things I found it worth the hype & price.
Bonus: if your self-care routine leans tactile and indulgent, the texture alone is satisfying.
What It’s Not:
It’s not a scalp treatment. It’s not going to give you shine like a glass pane. But what it will give you is healthy-feeling, more cooperative, and genuinely softer hair — with results that actually build over time. It does make difference even after a single time using this, but I would say wait until it ACTUALLY hits. It's worth the time, I promise.
