Bestest Cushion Foundation EVER!

Okay, hear me out. I think I’ve found the cushion for transitional weather, and I’m still kind of emotional about it.

So, quick backstory : as soon as the weather started warming up, my usual foundation just… gave up on me. It started clinging to every dry patch I didn’t even know I had, emphasized my pores like a zoom-in filter, and by mid-afternoon, I’d look in the mirror and seriously consider just washing my face off entirely. Add a bit of humidity to the mix and it was full-on patchy chaos. One day it got so bad I actually did wash it all off and went bare-faced. That was my breaking point.

I decided I needed a cushion foundation, something light but buildable, easy to carry, and good for touch-ups without making things worse. Right around that time, I was hanging out with this friend and her skin looked FLAWLESS. I was jealous(especially because I was into my skin😭) and I thought it was her perfect skin that made that look. But apparently, it wasn’t!

When I asked her for cushion foundation recs, she immediately brought up this cushion and talked about how it makes your skin look flawless, perfect, without being flaky.

I remembered that BANILA CO has always had a good rep for base products, so I looked it up on Oliveyoung, and the reviews were promising. Clicked “add to cart” without thinking too hard, and let me just say. That might’ve been one of the best impulse purchases I’ve ever made.

From the first application, I was stunned. This cushion smoothed over my skin like skincare-meets-foundation magic. I don’t even know how to explain it properly.

My pores? Blurred. Texture? Softened. That cakey afternoon breakdown I was expecting? Didn’t happen. Even by nighttime, it wore down in the prettiest way. None of that harsh separation or pilling. Just a natural, luminous fade like I’d been freshly glammed a few hours ago.

What shocked me most was how refined the finish looked. I genuinely felt like I’d stepped out of a professional makeup session. It has this soft glow that makes your skin look plump and hydrated, but never greasy (which I was worried about, being combo skin). It doesn’t sit on top of your skin, it becomes part of it.

I still use a little powder on my T-zone now that it’s getting warmer, but honestly, I could get away without it. The cushion holds up so well on its own. I’ve tried so many base products that promised longevity and radiance, but very few delivered both without some kind of trade-off. This one? Somehow does it all.

If you’re like me and your skin goes rogue with the seasonal change, especially when humidity creeps in, give this a shot. I wasn’t expecting to love it this much, but now I don’t want to be without it.

I want to love cushions but I’ve tried so many and none fully clicked. Either the coverage is perfect but feels greasy, or it sets well but clings to dry patches

Same. I always feel like I’m compromising, either I get that pretty skin-blurring effect or it just vanishes after 3 hours

@Influencer That’s why I ended up back with tinted sunscreens tbh. Cushions are cute but not built for my combo skin

I’ve probably tried six cushions at this point and I still haven’t found one that actually wears well all day. Always ends up patchy around my nose or breaks up near my mouth

Same. I want to love them but I feel like the cushion format isn’t built for combo or oily skin in humid weather

@Influencer That was my issue too until I tried this Banila co one. It’s more matte than most but doesn’t flatten the skin. Still not perfect, but closer

I heard this one runs more neutral-beige. Did any of you find it too grey or too yellow?

I’m usually shade 23 and the Natural color works, but undertones are tricky. I wish they’d offer more than five shades tbh. All of them are too light

@Influencer Lack of shade range is probably why I don’t reach for cushions more often. Most brands feel like they’re made for one skin tone

One thing I will say though — if your skin is textured, this one sits better than Clio or Moonshot. Less pore-emphasizing, more smoothing

That’s good to know. I can’t deal with cushions that cling to dry patches pretending it’s “natural glow”

I still think it’s better for touch-ups than full-day wear. Like amazing at 10AM, but by 5PM it’s fading unless I powder

Yep. I like it more than others but I’m still not at “holy grail” level

Maybe cushions just aren’t meant to replace foundation for everyone. It feels more like a lifestyle product than a base essential here
