[Honest Review] La Roche-Posay UVMune 400 Oil Control SPF50+ Fluid

If you have oily, acne-prone skin that also gets easily dehydrated, you’ve probably struggled to find a sunscreen that offers strong protection without turning your face into a slip-and-slide. Enter La Roche-Posay’s UVMune 400 Oil Control SPF50+ Fluid, a chemical sunscreen specifically formulated for oily skin types.

This sunscreen claims to be water-, sweat-, and sand-resistant, and it comes with the usual shake well before use warning. Texture-wise, it's ultra-fluid and runny, as advertised, which makes it really easy to spread across the skin.

On application, it initially feels a bit greasy, nothing alarming, but that sensation quickly settles down. Once it dries down, it leaves a natural finish that, on my very oily skin, doesn’t look shiny or greasy at all. While it’s not super matte, the finish is impressively balanced, so if you're after a glow or a dewy finish, this probably won’t hit the mark for you.

Water Resistance? Yes. This holds up incredibly well through sweat and water, but I still recommend reapplying after swimming or heavy sweating, especially during peak UV exposure.

Makeup Compatibility? Here's where it gets tricky. Unfortunately, this sunscreen doesn’t play especially well with makeup. It causes some patchiness and separation, and while makeup is still wearable, the finish isn’t ideal and won’t last as long. If you're planning to use this under foundation or tinted products daily, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Skin Reactions? None. It didn’t sting, run into my eyes, or cause any irritation, even though I’m usually only sensitive around the eyes. And, most importantly, it didn’t break me out.

If you don’t wear makeup and you're looking for a high-protection, comfortable sunscreen that can hold up in sweat and sun without turning your skin into an oil slick, this one’s a solid pick. Just make sure you're okay with the feel of chemical sunscreens and a slightly natural finish.

I'd recommend this for barefaced, oily-skinned days.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions :)
