My Soothing-Toner Pick: Dr.G Calming Powder Toner

I picked up this Dr.G toner because I wanted something that would calm my acne-prone skin without feeling heavy—and it turned out to be exactly that kind of quiet helper. There’s a fine powder that settles at the bottom, so give it a good shake before each use. Once mixed, it looks soft and milky in the bottle, but on the face it spreads like a true water toner: light, fast, and very hydrating.

I pat it on with my hands right after cleansing. It sinks in quickly with no stickiness or tacky film—just a comfortable slip that makes the next steps go on smoother. What I notice most is how it takes down irritation around active spots. Post-wash redness fades faster, my skin feels less “hot,” and makeup doesn’t cling to the dry edges around healing breakouts.

On days when my barrier feels moody, I add a second thin layer and it still feels breathable. Even under sunscreen it doesn’t pill or make me greasy. I wouldn’t call it a miracle fix for blackheads—that’s what targeted actives are for—but as a daily base that calms and adds moisture without clogging, it’s been consistently good. The finish is fresh rather than glossy, so it works on bare-skin days and under light foundation.

After a couple of weeks my skin just looks steadier: fewer flare-ups that linger all day and less tightness by lunchtime. If you have acne-prone skin and haven’t tried this yet, I honestly recommend giving it a shot. Shake, pat, repeat.

Simple.

My soothing toner pick is definitely Dr.G 💚
