ilso Deep Clean Master Review – Not quite the game-changer I hoped for

Okay, so I really wanted to love this. I’d seen it hyped up in Korean skincare forums and thought, “Finally! A sleek, no-fuss tool to tackle those pesky sebaceous filaments on my nose.” So I went for it… but now that I’ve used it a few times, I’m honestly on the fence.

First off — it looks amazing. Clean, minimal, that chic white packaging that just feels like it should work. But performance-wise? It’s… okay. Not bad, not great — just kind of in the middle.

I didn’t buy the softening agent it’s supposed to be paired with (which might’ve been a mistake), but even without it, I expected it to make some difference. It does get some gunk out, sure — but so would literally anything with a similar edge from Amazon for half the price.

And if you’re not extremely gentle, it’s way too easy to irritate the skin. After just one use, I had some redness and was like… am I helping or hurting my barrier right now?

Also, just to set expectations — this isn’t some magical “blackhead eraser” that gives you glass skin overnight. It’s not a one-and-done solution. Your pores will refill (ugh, biology), and this is really only effective if you’re doing ongoing, gentle maintenance.

Honestly, for the price, I was expecting something more elevated or even intuitive in design. But the reality is, you still need to do the work: steam the face, soften the skin, be careful with pressure… otherwise it just feels like a fancy-looking metal stick that might be doing more harm than good.

Will I keep using it? Maybe — but cautiously, and probably only after pairing it with a softening pack.

Would I repurchase? Probably not.

Would I tell a friend to try it? Only if they’re already deep into pore care and know how to handle extraction tools very gently.

Bottom line:

Not the worst thing I’ve used, but definitely not the pore-cleaning savior I was hoping for.

Sometimes, the hype doesn’t fully translate — and that’s okay.

You NEED the softening gel or it’s just an overpriced pokey stick. I learned the hard way.

My pores were like “lol nice try.” It did nothing a hot towel + q-tip couldn’t do.

This is a lesson in not buying things just because the internet said it’s aesthetic. RIP.

Does the softening agent actually make a difference? I’ve been eyeing this but skeptical about needing another product just to make it work.

Also, how often do you use it without irritating your skin?

Ugh, I felt this review in my gut:((( Bought this after seeing it all over TikTok and... it's just a metal stick?? Like sure, it technically works, but my $5 blackhead tool from Amazon does the same thing without the fancy packaging.

I’ll defend this slightly bc it’s the tool that doesn’t leave me with broken capillaries if I’m extremely careful. But yeah, it’s overpriced for what it does. I only keep it because my skin’s too sensitive for traditional extractors.

I always feel doubtful about deep clean tool... it literally sounds pretty harshing to our skin, doesn't it?
