Gentle, effective, and eco-conscious. No wonder why it’s a best seller on Olive Young

I waited to write this review until I’d been using it for about a month, and I’m glad I did, because this is one of those products that quietly grows on you.

First off, what surprised me the most was that it’s not a super watery toner. It has a bit of viscosity to it, which honestly surprised me at first. I originally bought this to use as a “wipe-off” toner (using cotton pads after cleansing), and I was a bit worried it might be too thick for that. But no, it’s actually just right. It glides across the skin without any tugging and leaves it feeling refreshed but not stripped.

I use it as a cleansing toner in the morning and as a first step in my nighttime routine. It layers well with other products and doesn’t pill, even under heavier moisturizers. My skin has been calmer and less reactive lately — fewer random breakouts and my bumpy texture around the chin and cheeks has visibly improved.

Also, can we talk about the refill pack? I love a brand that thinks about sustainability and affordability. The fact that I can repurchase the product at a lower price and with less plastic waste is honestly a huge win for me. It made me feel a lot better about spending a little more upfront.

As someone with combo skin and occasional breakouts, I genuinely feel like this is helping keep my skin balanced and soothed. It’s not an overnight miracle, but it does exactly what I need it to — hydration, comfort, and long-term skin health.

Definitely planning to repurchase. 💚

Nah for me as the texture just didn’t work for me. It left a weird film on my skin and didn’t absorb as cleanly as I’d hoped. I also didn’t notice much of a difference in terms of hydration or calming, maybe it’s better suited for dry or very sensitive skin types.

Personally I love that this toner bridges the gap between a cleansing toner and a hydrating one. The formula isn’t overloaded with actives, which is great when you’re trying to build a calming routine. It’s especially good for barrier support thanks to ingredients like panthenol and madecassoside. I've noticed less redness around my nose and chin since using it consistently.

Plus, Olive Young making refill packs more common is such a good sign so skincare can be effective and responsible. Really hope more K-beauty staples move in that direction!!

This is one of those low-key products that doesn’t scream miracle, but quietly makes everything else in your routine work better. I use it in the mornings too, especially when I don’t want to do a full cleanse but still need a refresh. The slightly thicker texture feels way more hydrating than typical watery toners, and it never leaves a residue.
