Is the Numbuzin No.1 Pantothenic B5 Cream Best for Acne-Prone Skin?

Product's Information

• Where to purchase : YesStyle [LINK

• Price : $15.50

• Volume : 2.7oz

• Made in : South Korea

What is it?

A lightweight, water-like moisturizer formulated for oily and acne-prone skin. It contains a combination of soothing ingredients like Centella Asiatica and Green Tea and hydrating agents to regulate sebum production, reduce blackheads, and strengthen the skin barrier without feeling greasy or heavy.

• Claimed benefits : Ideal for oily and blemish-prone skin.

My Thoughts

I’d agree that this cream is best suited to oily and combination skin types, although dry skin may enjoy it during warmer months. It could also work for sensitive skin.

• Vegan? No.

• Cruelty-Free? Unfortunately, Numbuzin is not a certified cruelty-free brand.

• Shelf Life after opening : 12 months.

Packaging

Comes in a plastic tub with a screw-top cap. It does not include a spatula or hygiene seal, which may be a drawback for some.

How I Use It

I use this cream in both the AM and PM as it’s lightweight and comfortable before bed or before a workout. A little goes a long way; it spreads easily and covers both face and neck with a small amount.

Key Ingredients

• Anti-blemish : Niacinamide (sebum-regulating, brightening), Zinc PCA (also moisturizing), Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B5)

• Brightening : Turmeric Root Extract, Alpha-Arbutin, Liquorice Root Extract

• Antioxidants : Centella Asiatica Extract, Green Tea Extract, Argan Oil

• Soothing : White Willow Bark (natural salicylate), Panthenol

• Moisturizers & Humectants : Argan Oil, Aloe Vera Flower Extract, Glucose, Fructooligosaccharides, Fructose

Texture & Feel

Described as a watery gel-cream and I agree. It absorbs quickly, feels cooling and hydrating, and leaves no greasy or heavy residue. Thanks to its silicone content, it has a light, silky finish and glides smoothly on the skin.

• Sticky? Not really.

• Greasy? No. It's not mattifying per se, but doesn’t leave a dewy shine either.

• Does it ball up? Only if you apply too much and rub aggressively after it dries.

• Irritation? I’ve used it after shaving and strong actives like retinol without any stinging.

• Layerable? Yes, but as always, over-layering can increase the chance of pilling.

• Fragrance/EO? None. This formula is fragrance and essential oil–free.

• Under makeup? Yes, just apply sparingly and gently to avoid any potential balling up.

Usage Timeline

• Duration of use : 3 months

• Will I finish it? Yes

• Estimated total use time : ~5 months with regular AM use

Effects

Lightly refreshing, mildly hydrating, and soothing. Over time, it’s helped maintain balanced hydration without causing breakouts or irritation, even with ingredients meant to regulate oil. It’s one of the few moisturizers I can comfortably wear in both morning and evening routines without feeling greasy or dry.

What I Like

• Fragrance and essential oil–free

• Hydrating and non-irritating

• Lightweight, but still moisturizing

• Comfortable under makeup and in daily wear

• Loaded with skin-beneficial ingredients

What I Don’t Like

• Potential for pilling with heavy application or friction

• Not cruelty-free or Halal

• Lacks a spatula or hygiene tab

• Not mattifying

Best For

• Dry Skin : Use in summer, especially if you’re breakout-prone

• Oily/Combo Skin : Works year-round as an AM/PM moisturizer

• Acne-Prone/Sensitive Skin: Gentle enough for regular use

Overall Rating : 8 out of 10

This is a gentle, lightweight moisturizer that’s well-formulated for oily and acne-prone skin. While it won’t keep you matte all day, it doesn’t add shine either and feels very comfortable on the skin. A solid option if you’re looking for hydration without heaviness or irritation.

Would I Repurchase?

Yes as it’s comfortable, effective, and reliable.

Possible Dupe?

Check out the Dr.G Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream, very similar in texture and also geared toward oily and blemish-prone skin.

Love the ingredient list but ugh… not cruelty-free? That’s a dealbreaker for me. Wish more K-beauty brands would step up in that area

I know right? Love K-beauty sm in terms of their cost-effectiveness and formulas but that side makes me reconsider of them.

Not op but tried the blemish cream before and ugh I hated it a lot as it was barely able to keep my skin hydrated.

Omg finally someone mentioned the lack of irritation after retinol. My skin throws a tantrum with most creams but this one sounds like a winner 👀
