I wanted to like this. I really did.
It’s Beauty of Joseon, for crying out loud.
The aesthetic? Immaculate. The name? Comforting.
“Daily Relief”? Sounds like my skin’s about to go on a healing retreat.
But no.
What I got was a greasy, shiny mess.
You know that feeling when your face slides off by 2PM?
Yeah, that.
And the scent?
Stronger than it needs to be for something that’s supposed to be gentle.
I kept trying to convince myself.
“Oh maybe it’s just the weather.”
“Maybe I layered too many serums.”
“Maybe it’s me, not you.”
It’s not me.
It’s this sunscreen.
To be fair, no breakouts.
But the texture? Slippery.
The finish? Dewy… in a help I need blotting paper every hour kind of way.
Other Korean sunscreens set the bar so high, this one just… didn’t clear it.
Rating: 2.8 grumbles out of 5.
Not a total disaster.
But I won’t be writing it a love letter either.
“Maybe it’s the humidity.”
“Maybe my serums rebelled.”
“Maybe I am the problem.”
I felt like I was wearing a garden party on my face.
Dewy in the “please send blotting paper and prayers” kind of way. 🙃
I give it 2.8 grumbles out of 5. Generous, tbh.
What are you all using instead? I need recs that won’t ghost me by lunch 👀
Also heard Round Lab Birch Juice is a crowd fave! anyone tried it?
What’s your holy grail vs heartbreak?
