Hi girls! I have posted a bunch of lists so far and was really heartened by how helpful others found it, so I thought I’d share it here too. However this time I’ll keep the reviews short and sweet, but feel free to ask if you want me to elaborate on anything!
* Check out the last part!
About My Skin
I’m with combination, acne-prone, and sensitive skin. My skin does not get along with fragrance, citrus oils, or floral essential oils, so I’ve become a bit of an ingredients nerd by necessity. I still have plenty to learn, but hopefully this list helps others with similarly reactive skin or anyone looking to simplify their routine based on honest experiences.
1. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil – 9/10
Pros : This is one of my favorite body oils. It's a beautifully lightweight dry oil that absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling silky-smooth without any greasiness. The signature Nuxe scent is a luxurious, warm floral that smells like a summer holiday in a bottle, elegant, slightly nostalgic, and not too overpowering, especially since I only use it on my body. It gives my skin a healthy glow and pairs beautifully with perfume for subtle scent layering.
Cons : The packaging could definitely be improved as it comes in a glass bottle without a pump or dropper, which makes application messier than it needs to be. I often end up spilling a bit, which feels wasteful.
Bottom Line : I love using this post-shower while my skin is still damp. It locks in moisture and leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and smelling amazing. A must-have if you enjoy dry oils with fragrance.
2. Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 – 5/10
Pros : It’s budget-friendly and widely accessible, and I appreciate that it’s lightweight and doesn’t leave a white cast. The finish is quite dewy, which some people may like.
Cons : Unfortunately, this sunscreen didn't work for my skin as it felt a bit greasy and led to some clogged pores and breakouts. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, it might not be the best fit. I’ve also noticed reviews saying the formula has been recently updated, so it’s possible the new version performs differently.
Bottom Line : A decent sunscreen for the price if your skin isn’t prone to breakouts. Personally, I’ll skip repurchasing unless the new formula proves to be gentler on sensitive, acne-prone skin.
3. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ – 7/10
Pros : This is a cult classic for good reason. It’s incredibly soothing and protective, making it a go-to for damaged, irritated, or sensitized skin. I love using it during the colder months when my skin barrier feels compromised, especially on dry patches, around my nose, or even as a slugging product when needed. It helped calm down a bout of eyelid dermatitis I get every winter, no stinging, just comfort.
Cons : It can be a little too rich for everyday use if you're acne-prone or get milia easily. It’s best used in targeted areas rather than as a full-face moisturizer if you're worried about congestion.
Bottom Line : I’ll always keep a tube on hand for skin emergencies or winter dryness. While I don’t use it daily, it’s one of those dependable products I’m glad to have in my stash.
Hope this helps my fellow sensitive skin friends navigate the skincare jungle and I'm always happy to share more if it's helpful! Stay tuned for the next chapter:)
