I have combination to oily skin with mild acne and pigmentation concerns.
First of all, this is a solid, no-frills moisturizer, your classic cream with the added bonus of ceramides for barrier support. Based on the thick texture, it seems better suited to dry or compromised skin, but as someone with combination to oily skin, I was surprised by how well it worked for me. According to the brand, the Illiyoon Ceramide ATO Concentrate Cream is formulated to hydrate deeply and soothe the skin, using a patented Ceramide Skin Complex™ to reinforce the skin barrier and improve its ability to retain moisture.
It smells Completely neutral, no noticeable fragrance at all, and thankfully, no unpleasant natural scent either. Ideal for sensitive noses or skin. The texture is thick and rich, but in a pleasant way. It feels cushiony and hydrating without being greasy, sticky, or heavy. It melts in quickly and doesn’t sit uncomfortably on the skin, even during hot, humid months. It’s honestly got that wrapped in a soft blanket kind of feeling. At 200mL for around AUD $23, it’s a great value, especially since a little goes a long way. I used mine twice daily and still got about 8 months of use out of the tube. I'd rate this 4 out of 5 but I'm not likely to repurchase it for now.
Overall, this was genuinely enjoyable to use. I understand why it’s so highly recommended in the skincare community as it’s simple, calming, and just gets the job done. Despite my skin leaning oily, it never made me greasy or congested. I loved the soft, velvety finish and how balanced my skin felt even when using actives like retinoids. I didn’t experience any breakouts, dryness, or irritation, and I think that speaks to how well-formulated and gentle this cream is. It’s a great option if you want an uncomplicated moisturizer that supports your barrier without overloading your skin. That said, I’ve since moved on to the Illiyoon Ceramide Gel Cream, which has a lighter texture that feels even more tailored to my skin needs. I might change my mind again, but for now, that’s the direction I’m leaning. This is a great beginner-friendly or sensitive skin-friendly cream that works well year-round, even in warmer weather. Would recommend trying it, especially if you’re looking for barrier repair support without the heaviness of typical occlusives.
