Cleanser that’s just.. ok?

So here’s the thing. I have combo to oily skin, but it’s not particularly sensitive. I can usually try out new cleansers without worrying about breakouts or redness. I picked up the COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser after seeing a lot of people rave about it. It seemed like one of those “holy grail” products, and I figured I’d give it a shot.

Right away, I liked the texture. It’s a clear gel that spreads well and feels gentle on the skin. The scent is kind of herbal (thanks to the tea tree, I guess?), not my favorite but not overwhelming either. It doesn’t foam up much, which I expected from a gel cleanser, but I still kind of missed that deep-lather feeling.

That might just be me, but I didn’t really feel like it was deep cleaning my skin. More like it was just lightly washing the surface. My face felt clean afterward, sure, but not like that satisfying “freshly scrubbed” kind of clean.

That said, it didn’t break me out or cause any issues, which is always a win. It was gentle and non-drying, and I didn’t notice any tightness or flakiness after using it. But I also didn’t notice any major improvements in my skin either. No extra glow, no change in texture, no reduced oiliness.

I’ve been using it on and off for a few weeks now and… honestly, it’s fine. It does its job without drama. But I don’t think I’d repurchase, mostly because I like cleansers that leave me feeling a bit more refreshed or give a clearer sense of doing something for my skin.

If you’re looking for a super gentle, no-fuss cleanser, this might work great for you. But if you’re chasing results or a noticeable difference, you might be left feeling a little underwhelmed.

This was one of the first K-beauty products I tried and honestly, I felt exactly the same. Super hyped, but just okay.

didn’t like the tea tree smell at all… it lingered more than I expected 😬

I think it works better as a second cleanse. It’s not enough for sunscreen or makeup on its own.

Huh. That’s interesting, it actually improved my texture a little. Maybe because I was overcleansing before?
