Detailed Review
This serum retails for around $38. I purchased it between February and March 2025, which is definitely on the higher side. Still, the impressive ingredient list and glowing reviews had me hopeful. Tranexamic acid and azelaic acid have worked wonders for my post-acne hyperpigmentation in the past, so I was eager to try this formula.
Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get this product to work for me despite really trying to like it.
First off, the scent or lack thereof was extremely off-putting. It reminded me of a high school chemistry lab that harsh, sulfuric "salt analysis" smell. I work with formalin regularly, so the last thing I want is for my skincare to remind me of the lab. What surprised me most was that none of the reviews I read or watched mentioned this smell.
The texture is quite creamy, which made layering difficult. My moisturizers are lighter than this serum, so it just didn’t sit well under them. The shea butter in the formula also worsened my comedones, and it took me a while to figure that out because I really didn’t want to admit this product might be the culprit.
It also left a flimsy, filmy feeling on my skin, which made it unsuitable for morning use.
Now for the packaging, I hated the tube. Every time I unscrewed the cap, excess product would spill out, wasting product and making it a nightmare to travel with.
As for performance, it did little to nothing for my hyperpigmentation. And with all the other issues, like texture, scent, packaging, it became difficult to use it consistently. Still, I persisted for around 5–7 months before finally giving up.
For a product at this price point, I expect not only performance but also a good overall experience. This delivered neither.
In General
Increased my acne, did nothing for hyperpigmentation, unpleasant formula and packaging. Not worth it.
