[First Impressions + Full Review] Torriden Dive-In Low Molecular Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Hey everyone! This is actually my first time writing a full review post here, so I really wanted to make it as helpful as possible. I’ve seen this serum hyped so often, and I’ve finally gone through most of the bottle, so here are my thoughts—broken down by category for easier reading!

🙈Skin Type / Concerns

I have combination skin that leans oily during the warmer months and tends to get dehydrated around my cheeks and jawline. My main concerns are uneven skin texture, dehydration that shows as flakiness or tightness, and occasional sensitivity after actives. I don’t usually break out from hydrating products, but heavy textures or anything too oily can make me feel congested. I’m currently based in Korea, so the humidity levels are no joke—hydration is key, but greasy products are a no-go for me. I was hoping for a serum that could deeply hydrate while still feeling light enough for daily summer use.

💦Climate

As I mentioned, I’m living in Korea and we’re in the middle of that sticky transitional season right now—humid but not quite peak summer heat yet. I used this serum both morning and night for about four weeks. During the day, it layers nicely under sunscreen without pilling, and it absorbs fast enough that I don’t feel like I’m suffocating. At night, I tried it both alone and with richer moisturizers, but I didn’t notice any significant difference when I left it out. I think it’s a decent option for humid or warm climates, but if you’re somewhere dry or you’re dealing with intense dehydration, this probably won’t cut it on its own.

🖊Price

I picked it up on sale for around 17,000 won (~13 USD), and honestly, I can’t complain about the price point. It’s affordable, especially considering how hyped it is in both K-beauty and global skincare circles. For the size (50ml), I’d say the value is fair, especially if you’re someone who goes through hydrating serums quickly. That said, I think the price-to-effectiveness ratio really depends on what you’re expecting from it. Personally, I wouldn’t mind spending a little more for something that gives me a bit more of a visible result.

🍃Ingredients

The star ingredient here is low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which is supposed to penetrate deeper into the skin to provide longer-lasting hydration. It also includes panthenol and allantoin, which are great for soothing. Everything in the formula seems geared toward hydration and barrier support without overwhelming the skin. I had no irritation at all while using it, which is a plus. Still, while the ingredient list looks impressive on paper, I can’t say I saw any dramatic difference in my skin beyond basic hydration.

✨️Expected Result

With all the rave reviews, I was honestly expecting some kind of skin transformation—like that plump, bouncy look you get after a facial. I was hoping for visible smoothness, reduced fine dehydration lines, and just a more glowy, healthy texture overall. Since my skin tends to look dull and tight in certain areas, I wanted this serum to help bring some life back to it. I also expected it to work well as a layering serum without interfering with other products. Unfortunately, while it delivered on light hydration, it didn’t really meet the rest of my hopes.

💫Actual Result

It felt nice on the skin, absorbed quickly, and never pilled, which made it very easy to slot into my routine. But that’s also kind of the issue—it was a little too watery for me. It felt like it vanished before doing anything meaningful. My skin didn’t look worse, but it also didn’t look particularly better, either. I kept waiting for that “wow” moment… and it never really came. It’s okay, it’s gentle, it’s hydrating in a very surface-level way, but it didn’t live up to the deeper hydration or “glow” effect I was expecting.

💭Overall

If you like ultra-light serums or have extremely sensitive skin that reacts to everything, this might be a good choice for summer. It’s inoffensive, affordable, and pleasant to use—but for me, it didn’t stand out enough to repurchase. I think I’ll keep it in rotation during hot and sticky days when I don’t want anything heavy, but it’s not something I’ll rely on for lasting hydration or skin improvement.

Personally, I prefer serums with a little more body or slip to them—it just feels more satisfying and effective. Not a bad product at all, just not the right fit for me.

Let me know if anyone else felt the same way, or if I’m missing a trick on how to get the most out of it!

I like it under sunscreen but yeah, not life-changing.

It’s fine for layering but not enough on its own.
